Priest - TOKYOPOP - Film Comic HQ

The future… The vampire war is raging, and humans have been fighting for their lives for years against a savage foe. Against this backdrop, three Priests and a Priestess are assigned a treacherous covert mission: to locate and recover a powerful ancient relic called the Domas Porada, located deep in the heart of the vampire wasteland. Teamed with five soldiers, the Priests set upon their dangerous journey, slicing and shooting their way through the vampire horde. But little do they know the biggest threat comes from within, as the most ominous casualty of war may not only be their loyalties…but their very minds.

Faith and determination
Cudubh5

Good story, good art style and you'll want to read all of the issues! I can hardly wait for issues to be available in the store!!!

Bad reader
Y am I Ded

The app contains two free issues (one with app download and one free from the list of issues) but is plagued by glitches in the reader which cuts out panels makes reading the story next to impossible.

Interesting way to read
Visualfx3D

This app and the comic surprised me. App presented a new and interesting way to read comicbook on my iPhone and story is simply awesome. Hope they will make more comics like this soon.

Poor interface...
Teddy Justice

Poor interface compared to other comic apps. Forced guided view made me not purchase anything. It is too bad, I really liked Priest manga when I read it some time ago.

Ok, but with a recent issue (Fixed!)
Deadagain

The reader goes from panel to panel, and has no option to just show the pages. This is common in many of the readers made to work on both iPhone and iPad, but it would be nice if you could turn it off. I don't mind it most of the time, but on the iPad the resolution is very poor because it's blowing up small panels. Overall I've been happy with it, but one issue has just arisen. Don't buy until they fix it. The last two issues I bought were charged, but didn't download. The server hasn't worked for several days. I'll update if it starts working. 10/28 Update: Appworks well now. They fixed the problem. Thanks!

Embrace the Manwha, Drop the movie tie in
Taylor McNamee

The Priest Manwha ( what the app calls genesis) is an amazing story with a beautiful and expressive artistic flair. The movie tie in? More of the same American Garbage. The art was so awful compared to the original Priest Manwha, that I couldn't get past the first three pages. Besides the movie tie in story being a re-hash of the many films of the Vampire movie genre, it is impossible for it to hold a candle to the original Priest Manwha storyline. Don't waste your money on whatever this new movie tie in comic is supposed to be. The Priest manwha however, (priest genesis) is worth your 99 cents. The reader itself has it's shortcomings like most, and suffers from "frame rape". The desire to bounce in and out of frames making people nauseous and taking away from the overall style of the page and it's design in some instances. But this is tokyopop... They have a history of giving fans what they dont...yes tp...I remember you and your ways. Props to tokyopop for putting this up though. Of all the things from their library to provide, they provided the Original Priest Manwha... I never would've expected this. Continue to provide the original priest chapters and I will continue to give you my money quite happily. But please, enough with the frame rape. just show me the whole page at once. No need to stylize it... It's already a great piece of work without you making it...."TP Cool". "Sent from my Ipad" So please forgive any spelling errors or capitalizations that come from the wonderfully annoying auto-correct...

So Awesome...

I tried to find an actual book for this when I saw the preview for the movie last month! When I could find no such book, I decided to type the title in the iTunes search engine and viola! I purchased every chapter and jumped right in. I slightly agree with the other review, in that sometimes the jumping around is weird but it's a comic. It's supposed to jump around. I love the story though and although I find a lot of disturbing issues in the story, being a Lutheran/Christian and all, it takes nothing away from the story. Keep them coming and I'll spend another $80+ dollars!

Reader Needs Some Work But Manwha Great
Lac619

Saw the movie today and had to go find the original source material. Couldn't find a hard copy in the area so I got it off iTunes (thanks for that). So far I love the art work and the story but the reader is driving me totally batty. I can see the full page on the menu screen but no place else which is taking a lot away from the art work and the story. Already own the first 10 issues. Fix the reader and I will gladly but them all.

the bomb
CandiApples

I just seen the movie n wanted more.. my hubby told me it was from a comic book.. I went to try n look for it on itunes. couldn't believe i found it.. i luv iit.. it's worth it

Great comic app
Tmasterfunk

Very good app, I really enjoy having priest at my fingertips. My only complaints are that I can't buy a whole "book" at a time and have to buy issues individually, and also I would like to be able to string issues together instead of having to navigate to the next issue after finishing one. Priest is amazing but the app needs some work.
