The object of this educational game is to find all items on the screen with similar shape as the one announced. Each screen is beautifully illustrated and there are visual and explanation of each shape at the bottom of the screen to provide guidance. The game counts out loud from 1 to up to 20 as each shape is found but it doesn't tell you how many you are supposed to find. Replay value could be an issue if no new illustrations get added on a regular basis - once you have the included illustrations memorized, there isn't much fun or challenge to revisit them. I found the control to be very responsive on both my iPad2 and iPhone4 (which has an added zoom feature). While gameplay and spoken instructions may not be suited for younger toddlers, SHAPES is a clean and polished app for kids to learn to count and identify shapes.

Overall, this is a fun app that would be best suited for kids around age four and under. Kids above that age may get bored quickly as there are very few levels. This could be remedied through more levels, varied difficulty options and more shape choices.

This is a high quality app that teaches counting and shapes. The pictures and animations are great. My daughter enjoys the puzzles but can be a little frustrated about not knowing how many shapes are left to find. It would be nice to see more puzzles with future updates.

This is a fantastic app that has left me super impressed! There is simplicity to the design, but an element of difficulty with the search of the shapes. This app has great positive reinforcement from counting as the shapes are selected to encouragement in the search for the user if there is a bulk of time where no shapes are selected. The shapes are explained for those that need it! A fantastic app for the price!
