PowerEdge relies on an innovative, patent-pending technology. It calculates the cyclist's power output directly from measurements obtained from the iPhone GPS, continuous topological data, and real-time atmospheric data. The cyclist's profile is fed into a proprietary aerodynamic model that captures different ride positions and displays accurate power output in all conditions.

Extensive comparison against mechanical power meters repeatedly shows the accuracy of PowerEdge: less than 3% error in power measurement. PowerEdge gives you the accuracy of mechanical power meters, without the expense or the hassle.

There is no hardware to install. Your power meter is ready to go on your iPhone as soon as you download it. You just need to carry your iPhone in your jersey pocket, armband, or bento box.

PowerEdge allows multiple user profiles for different riders. The app can easily be used with different bikes.

PowerEdge offers an auto-renewing monthly subscription that allows access to weather service and topographic data for an accurate, real time calculation of your cycling power output in Watts. Without an active subscription, PowerEdge will function as a cycling computer and display an estimate of the calories spent during each ride.

The price of the subscription is $5.99/month; if available, you will be charged in your local currency at the prevailing exchange rate as defined by iTunes. The payment will be charged to your iTunes Account.

The app offers a 30-day free trial period for the monthly subscription. At the end of the trial period, the full price of the subscription will be charged thereafter. You may cancel a subscription during its free trial period via the subscription setting through your iTunes account. This must be done 24 hours before the end of the 30-day free trial period to avoid being charged.

No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during an active subscription period. If you cancel your subscription during the free-trial period, any unused portion of this free trial period will be forfeited.

The subscription automatically renews every month, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged $5.99/month (or the equivalent local currency, if available) for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage your subscriptions and turn-off auto-renewal via the subscription setting through your iTunes account. Please visit http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4098 for more information.

Triathlon Training

PowerEdge offers the basics of a ride (i.e. time, distance, average speed, max speed), as well as the average power. In addition, the app provides various options for more advanced settings. The instructions are easy to read and the final outcome is incredible. PowerEdge is my Go-To app when it comes to analyzing personal improvements in my training.

This is my new favorite cycling app. I had a question about user profiles and the tech support got back to me right away. Very impressed.

Before you even understand how the app works, it informs you that there's a subscription in order to use the app altogether- I just want to track my routes and calorie burn... anyway I would say it's not worth it
