Lots of Content, But No Watch List or Search

This app is made exclusively for impulse watching. There’s no Watchlist to save titles for future viewing. There’s no search function in the version for Apple TV to find movies you might want to see. There’s also no alphabetical or age organization; only titles in random order by category. That makes it terribly inefficient for busy viewers. For instance, if you find out a movie is available on Popcornflix using an app like Just Watch, it could take hours to actually find the movie in the Popcornflix app. The iOS version permits you to register an account, but, since the Apple TV version does not contain a signin means and neither version permits a Watchlist, registering in the iOS version serves no purpose. The app is simply not ready for prime time.

Great platform to watch free movies, except there is a major problem. COMMERCIAL SPAM! ?… ? Closed the app? Here are 6 commercials before you can continue watching a movie. Oh wait, it started the movie over from beginning? Here are 6 more commercials after fast forwarding. Need to fast forward again to find your spot? Here are 6 more commercials after fast forwarding again (repeat). App crashed from too many commercials? REPEAT IT ALL AGAIN! ? By the time I found my spot in one movie after having closed the app in the middle of the film, I had watched about 36 commercials before I was able to continue watching from where I left off. Needless to say, I’m uninstalling this app.

Newly redesigned app (35 MB) works on my iPad Air iOS v12.4.5 in landscape view, so that part is well done. Thus, five stars and suggestions. Tentatively waiting on future content direction. Channels, Movies, and TV are easily accessible. (Nothing available yet on Channels but great potential overall.) I watched a Sport Fishing episode from 2017. Thanks - it was fresh to me. Believe it or not (pun intended), I was busy with schooling so I completely missed the Greatest American Hero TV series. Some suggestions: 1. Classic Arts Channel seems obvious (for years there was a commercial-free loop on cable TV directly from satellite that had the best, but now many people are cutting the cable fees). Please bring it back to us. Maybe you can offer one commercial-free channel as a public service. It has Concerts, Orchestras, Operas, Theater, and classic Film that most people can't experience now, even though it is an updating loop. American Dance channel (college competitions of Swing, Waltz, Square Dance). Classic Lawrence Welk Show if you can get it away from PBS. Heart & Home channel featuring nutrition advice, U.S. regional cooking episodes, and timeless Priscilla's Yoga (time-tested for years on PBS). Adventure channel for Rock Climbing, Surfing, Hang Gliding, Scuba, Golfing, Volleyball, Cycling U.S. State bicycle trails, Horse Trails, Rafting U.S. State rivers, Archery. 2. U.S. Libraries have instructional videos, audio books, and movies. If Popcornflix can't do video-on-demand services, then provide some featured channels of Library contents. 3. Allow the viewer to censor commercials via audio mute and video blanking. Allow the viewer to disable seeing content they deem objectionable, or obscene movie titles or channels. (We need a moral alternative to the increasingly porn-infested video streaming apps.) 4. Weekend Double-Feature channel like a 1st run movie Drive-In at Home. Then Popcornflix will not need to rent as many movies. Library of Congress or Archive.org have freely available nostalgic drive-in movie promos like "Let's all go to the lobby" jingle. 5. I am all star trekked out, seen every episode and movie before CBS Discovery or Picard. Popcornflix should acquire the Axanar fan-supported movie in production and make it a series (all the names are changed to protect CBS). At least provide the amazing 20 minute Axanar short film prequel seen on youtube. Most people are not aware of it.
