This app is not for total beginners -- It is a powerful digital tool for professionals or enthusiasts.
But don't worry! Instructions are constantly scrolling across the screen. Just enter whatever chemical readings you prefer using any test kit you own, and Pool Doctor will tell you exactly what chemicals to put into your pool and why.
With Pool Doctor, you can adjust the chlorine, bromine, salt, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and even the cyanuric acid levels in all of your pools. You can even configure the ideal ranges and chemicals used to treat the pools (see screenshots).
Pool Doctor gives all results and explanations in pounds, ounces, grams, kilograms, liters, gallons, or even in the number of scoops (you can enter custom scoop sizes); and changing units is as easy as pressing a button! This app supports regular, salt-water, or even bromine pools.
Pool Doctor now saves basic reading and treatment records for all of your pools!
Pool Doctor only shows you readings that apply to your pool type, so there is no unnecessary confusion!
Pool Doctor will now calculate the Langelier Index automatically if you take all of the required readings!
Pool Doctor now includes a shock calculator! Just enter the free and total chlorine levels, and Pool Doctor will automatically calculate how much of your preferred shock chemical is necessary to bring your pool to breakpoint chlorination.

Can't select type of chemicals. Can't enter what the values are now and what your goals are to get what chemical changes are required. Way to basic.

Volume estimator where did that go. Individual adjustments to chemicals where is that. The only good feature of the new app is liquid chlorine but I'd give that up for the old app

Update looks good and saves time. I have 20+ pools stored now, and it just works. Volume estimator would be nice though.

What happened to volume estimator? Why would you take that out. Was happy using pool doctor but now, "my pool" has all the tools I used to use pool doctor for and more. Oh well
Inaccurate and no support

The calculations are not correct; I emailed support twice with no response. I want a refund and deleted the app within 24 hours and hear nothing. I am writing a complaint to Apple in hopes that they will take action.

This does pretty much everything I could ask: saves pools, calculates chemicals, and saves chemical and treatment records. It even let's you type extra notes into the records! No cloud-sync, but everything else is great. No learning curve.
