Why wouldn't this be compatible with iPod Touch ver 1?

The codes are not the same across the US. Not even the same everywhere in any one state. Plus, the codes are becoming archaic. Digital displays and "plain language" are taking over - mostly because the codes are not standardized. The penal codes listed are only applicable to California.

Just so you know, hate to bust bubbles around here, but there is NOT a standardized set of 10 codes. For example, the SBI uses a set, the State Highway Patrol uses another, and of course, the different municipalities around those agencies all use their own versions. To believe that you now understand that ridiculous scanner is ludacris. You guys have been duped and its sad really. But, go ahead and make of it what you will, you will make up the rest anyway.
Very easy to use, cheaper than purchasing a book to look up these codes.

It is very easy to use, and ...short and simple...I love it...I listen to Police Scanner and this is so cool to look up the Police Codes they are using so I can understand what is going on. Buy it, worth your $

I bought another app that said los angeles but never came in. This one really works! And the other cool thing about this app is for one it tells you what departments they have and it has a good handful of the most used codes over air. Great app... Great price! Good job!
