Mostly Good-ish

It looks decent enough when viewed in 2D mode, but if put in VR mode, and used with ANY VR headset, the experience is impossible to enjoy.

Unparalleled Demonstration of VR Tech

Let me start off by saying-- I have NEVER been as thoroughly convinced with VR tech as I am right now... after falling deeply in love with this app. I have always been fascinated with the level of immersion for the viewer with 360-degree video capture. Being able to soar over sheer rock faces in a helicopter from the comfort of my own home is a thrilling idea. In my past experience, however, manipulating 360 photos or videos on a desktop computer always had me feeling somewhat detached from the overall immersive experience. I felt as if I wasn't actually THERE, but rather that I was simply seeing an image that I could rotate with the swipe of my hand. The Polar360 app takes that idea and throws it out the window. Through the incredibly accessible and affordable VR device, Google Cardboard (I have the DodoCase version), the apps' stereoscopic videos send you on a thrilling 360-degree HD journey through the Arctic over land, sea, and air. Peering through Google Cardboard, I TRULY feel as if I have been transported to the sites featured in this beautifully-captured footage. Everywhere I look with each run of the video allows me to have a completely different experience. One run-through had me watching my helicopter soar over craggy cliff faces and the next time (in the same segment) I turned myself around, facing downward, watching icebergs silently drift in the icy water beneath me. What is most inspiring about it this app is that it really captured the sensation of actually BEING in these places. My fiancée can attest, as well, stating that when she took off the VR goggles, she was surprised at how genuine her experience was on a rocky shoreline, next to a tent as the stars came out with the aurora borealis dancing above her head. If you just got Cardboard and are considering any app to test out its functionality, LOOK NO FURTHER. This app is THE app for Cardboard.
