Terrific Poetry App! And Free!
M D Mills

I’m no expert or poet, but there are poems that stick with me because they say things that are meaningful in beautiful ways. Dylan Thomas, “Do Not Go Gentle,” for example. Many others. IMHO, there is a lot of ersatz poetry available in print and online that is no better than the earnest flights of an average straight-A high schooler. I love high schoolers, but I don’t want to read most of their poetry. Unless I’m a relative. ? The poems on this site are vetted and curated. The Poetry Foundation and its editors are among the top in the field. So I know that every poem on this site is deemed worthwhile by one or more knowledgeable and experienced poetry craftsperson. Even if I don’t understand it. And if I don’t, I can just go down the list or spin the wheel to find another. All this beauty and thought and feeling for free! The kind of non-monetized experience that America used to offer in spades. THANKS!

Needs update!
0101101z

It appears that after the last update, nearly a year ago, no one who works on the app actually tried it out. I cannot see the bottom of a list, possibly because of the promo banner inserted near the top of the screen. It’s a technical glitch; I guess I should only have <16 favorites. Also, the ‘Spin’ feature would be clever fun - if it were not required every time the app is opened. 5 stars overall, minus 1 each for those flaws.

I touch the forward button- nothing.

I am begging you to update this app
wrusso

The Poetry Foundation is such a wonderful resource, both in person and online. It is just so clear this app hasn’t been updated since a very early version of iOS. This could be THE poetry app if it was more organized and modernized. Please consider updating!

Lack of poems
Dylan Morin

Quite disappointed. Every poem I’ve looked up is not on the app.

All the World’s a poem

A melding of the analogue and digital world, Poetry app, bears witness to the power of the written word, our humanness and frailties which guide us to illumination, somehow.

Where is Langston Hughes?
BZMama65

Hughes is a great poet. Where is he in this app?

Poems aren’t loading
SaintGuinefort

I’m a member, but just found out about the app. Opened, spun, and now...no poem I choose ever appears! I’ve tried many times, and give it time...nada. There’s no indication that it’s even loading. My internet connection is working, so that’s not the issue.

Update the look
dezumond

I love your magazine, so aesthetic. But this looks like it it was designed with the first iPhone in mind. Really fam? Y’all going pass this off as an app? Poets, who specialize in the philosophy of beauty. This ain’t even wabi-sabi. So app creators, try better. You can even hire me to help. A brother looking for a job. ? But in all seriousness I love y’all, and thanks for having poetry on an app. So accessible. But I dream of a better looking app. “What happens to a dream deferred?”

The Best App Ever!
Mr.Fuzzbutt

I love poetry. Above that, I love a great UX design. This App satisfies both. I think everyone should have this app on their phone. I love the randomizer of poetry. I get to discover new types through it and new poets. This app is perfect. Cannot be improved anymore- like Jesus and Socrates. Download it! You won't be disappointed.
