The app monitors the microphone and calculates the frequency up to 40 times a second and plots it on a 3D accelerated graph. It has a maximum detection sensitivity of a thousandth of a cent. The app provides real time feedback while you play your instrument. The blue lines in the background represent the note frequencies. The closer the plotted line is to a blue line the better the intonation. Intonation is also indicated with three colors: Red for notes that are too sharp, orange for notes that are too flat and green for notes that have good intonation. The app automatically monitors the microphone and removes intermittent noise and silence, while keeping the sound and pitch information on the graph synchronised. Tap a location on the graph and it plays the corresponding sound which makes it easier to read the graph. A practice session can be reviewed with the replay feature. This animates the graph while playing back the sound and is a great way to find problem areas in a performance. The clear button resets the app when you are ready for the next take. You can turn the microphone on and off by tapping the microphone icon.

To make the most of the app please be aware of the following limitations: The graph refresh rate is throttled on older hardware to improve pitch detection performance. The app can resolve only one frequency at a time, so bowing double stops on a violin or strumming a guitar will give incorrect pitch readouts. Because the app uses the microphone it may pick up other sounds such as background music. Pitch detection works best in a quiet setting. The app was tested with a number of different instruments, yet each instrument is unique, so performance may vary.

I hope you enjoy this app and find it useful.

Extremely useful!

If I could ask for one more thing, it would be better bass support. Then again, I'm not sure that the onboard microphone would be able to handle it. Still, it's great for intonating your instrument.

Great tool- one problem

Very useful. I just wish there were a button to turn the mic off or to stop the app. If I'm trying to review the performance with noise in the room it continues to jump to the insertion point and write new data. Playback feature is a nice touch and the simplicity makes it very easy. Please add mic mute.

Awesome App Awesome Price

For the price tag this app is an absolute awesome buy. It doesn't have a lot of features but it works near perfect for what I needed it to do. I am trying to develop both my ear and my singing pitch why also learning guitar. The app uses my Ipads built in mic to pick up and graph what note I am playing on the guitar, it tells me what note it is, then I can sing or hummm the note. If Im off, which most of the time I am, I can use the graph to guide me in. Different lines also tell you wether you are singing flat or sharp. The built in play back feature doesn't work well at all but I have many other recording apps. If you use the app for more then 5 mins or so, it starts to lag and become less responsive, ether use the clear button on the top left or restart the app. I love this app, it works great on the latest Ipad with the current OS. I can't remember or not lol, but I would have been willing to pay $10.00. Thanks devs, great job.

Best pitch tracker on iOS
Unshakendude

I teach our church choir and we've started training them in our new digital world. I've loaded up my wish list with every pitch software on iOS and "pitch graph" did the best and was the easiest to use. (Can't beat the price) I wish they'd allow an upgrade to store each file and sent via email. Also, silence should be allowed and tracking should still continue. Just my 2 cents. With upgrades I would pay an easy $5

Amazing

I thought of how awesome it would be to have an app that could track pitch over time and was going to have to do it myself, but thankfully found this. I use it during singing practice to review my pitch at the onset of phonation especially. Invaluable tool.

Fantastic ❤️

The best pitcher app yet?

Great

It's sample and good app that improving my vocal scales and pitch it can be used for singer and musicians

What is the A?
Joshcello

Good idea for an app, but there is apparently no way to know what the reference tuning of the A is (440? 441? 442?). If there was a setting for that, this app's readout could be in some ways easier to use than Pitch Primer which does offer settings for the A, temperament, and scale with root.

Meh
el-merow

This app just record and shows u, it will be nice if u could play with the pitch after u record to get correct pitch, like the melodyne software plugin in in your daw... Move words up and down...

Does not pick up pitches below cello d
