If you have an HTML5 video playing on any website like Youtube just press Run PiPifier in Safari's Share Menu to enable Picture-In-Picture for this video.
With this extension you can even run PiP mode on sites that hide the native video controls (so that you can not enable PiP there)
Usage:
1. Open Safari
2. Open the Share Menu
3. Choose More
4. Enable 'Run PiPifier'
5. Select 'Run PiPifier' on a website with a video
YouTube overrides the native video controls getting this is how you get pip back
It works just like it says it does. I have a YouTube premium account and so I expected to have the picture in picture feature already. And it doesn’t which makes no sense because youtube said it comes with it. So frustrating. Anyways my suggestion for this app would be if it works with the actual YouTube app also. That would be cool, if there was also some kind of automatic way of detecting a video playing so you don’t have to press run pipifier every time. Thanks ??
Awesome app easy to use .. must have for users that want to be more productive!!!
Before I knew about this app, I had to watch YouTube in split screen mode. This is so much better. This should be native to iOS, I’m surprised Apple doesn’t have a built-in option to do this. Now I can sit in bed and illustrate while watching YouTube.
After I enable it and then go to Safari and click Share > Run in PIPifier it doesn’t work. Does nothing. No PIP window appears. Maybe I’m using it incorrectly but it seemed straight forward.
Got a iPad Air 2 and got this app and it’s a life saver. I love this app. I use it daily
I use this app all the time. Fantastic for people looking to play YouTube videos while playing games, internet browsing, or reading. The app also allows you to play YouTube videos with the screen off if you ever find yourself wanting to do that.
