This app is like an interactive book with clear images and sounds. It will help the kids learn how to spell and read their first words.
The app is designed keeping in mind the level of kids at this stage.
Beginning Sounds or the sounds with which a word starts are the easiest to recognize.
Then we go to ending sounds which are again consonant sounds. And then the vowel sounds.
This app uses the best method of teaching phonics approved by teachers. Only after few sessions you will find your child reading his/her first words.
We train the child to look for individual sounds rather the combined sounds. So when we teach “BAT” to the child, it is through three sounds- “b”,”a” and “t” and with this the child is able to read and spell almost any word he comes across.

Love, but...GUN used

This is one of the best apps I have found to help my 5 year old learn to read. It is nearly perfect. However, I do not think the use of a gun ( complete with picture) is appropriate. We are a military family so for us it's not a political issue. We don't want to desensitize our children to handguns. PLEASE REMOVE the word GUN from the words used in this app.

My daughter likes the game but I don't like the automated voice that reads the words. It does not sound personalized and it is difficult for my daughter to understand what is being said, unless I read it to her. Also, if possible, please change the response for wrong answers. It's negative; something like, "Oops! Try again," would be better.

Voices are mechanical & can be difficult to understand. Ap doesn't work consistently on new iPad. Graphics could be updated.

found it on app search. My pre schooler loved it. She was able to hook on to the simple words and be excited enough to read her own books. The app provides about 10 simple books and is very useful to keep kids engaged.
