Good start, needs improvement
rickobe

This is a good start at a PGe reader app, but there are some improvements needed: 1) The app doesn’t remember where I was in the paper if I leave the app and come back. So if I go read an email, for example, I have to re-navigate to where I was in the paper (if I remember). This should be easy to fix. 2) There should be a search function. This would be a great addition. 3) I like the Links function, but there should be an option to increase the font size in the linked articles to make them more readable for us low-vision subscribers. Three suggestions, three more stars and I’ll be rating this FIVE stars.

Ugh new update=won't open
SND14

Overall I have been pretty happy with PGe app..until the most recent 12/2015 update. Now on my iPad Air when I tap the app to open it, I get the PGe title page and it shuts down. Never get to read the paper on the app...Very annoying. Fix this fast.

New update
Pginplum

I had the same problem as the reviewer who wrote that they couldn't get the latest edition after update. I deleted the app and reloaded and was successful in reading the Sunday, December 20 edition of the paper.

Fail
K.brooke

Same problem. After update the PGe splash screen appears then the app shuts down

Just images of the newspaper
MarcUnangst

I had high hopes for this app, but unfortunately it's even less usable than their web site. Each "page" is an image of the actual newspaper page, including ads, "continued on page A-3", and so forth. It completely fails to recognize the differences between reading on paper and an electronic device, much led take advantage of them. Articles are hard to read due to the layout. I'm not sure anyone actually tried to use the app to read the paper.

Why do I have to reboot my iPad every day?
Rollett

I am v irritated at having to reboot my iPad every day in order to get the current edition. Worse, this morning I rebooted and it still would not show the new edition. Stupid!

Worst App Ever
Don't look any further

When it works properly, I enjoy the app. That would account for 3 days in 5 months. This app...how could any respectable, professional developer(s) sell, figuratively or literally, this app is beyond me. How could the Post Gazette put this app up for public use? Shame on all of you!! If this was done by in-house tech people, reassigned get rid of them. Hire an actual developer consultancy to delete the current app and create an app that works. Are you listening, PGe??

Once again, today’s paper won’t load!
Even the Nickname doesnt work

This is getting very frustrating and tiring. Fix the App or give me my money back. I paid for a daily newspaper; NOT an every-other-day one!

PG Going Digital? Sad Start
Reader121212

I often have pages overlaid on top of one another within the app making it unreadable. Sometimes get completely blank pages. If you leave the app and come back in it forgets your position. Needs settings to auto delete old newspapers. It is time consuming to do this basic task. The videos never play correctly. The PG should have perfected their apps before their announcement of moving to a “digital world.”
