If you try to scan a pdf417 code it won’t show you all the data and forces you to download another product, which doesn’t decode the pdf417 at all. TOTAL SCAM.

I was looking for an app that is able to read PDF417 barcodes. My HOA is considering scanning drivers licenses for all visitors and rather than looking at the clear text info on the front of the card reading the barcode on the back has more and better information. The developer of this app offers the SDK so that it can be implemented in custom applications. Exactly what I am looking for. This app is great, the scanner is fast and works even in not so bright light. The reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is that when I enable all available barcode formats the scanner doesn’t read the PDF417 anymore

PDF 417 is the best app I have used for scanning barcodes in various lighting conditions and situations. The latest version has evolved into an ever better faster app with a streamlined UI. The previous version had deep linking, so you could call the app and return the results from other apps (i.e., FileMaker Go) but that feature was removed. If that feature was returned to the app, I would’ve given it five stars, because it would be a bigger time saving for me for my needs.

Really impressive. With other tools I always thought the camera of my 4S was unable to read the PDF417 codes. This scanner works great. It can even read from my LCD monitor.

Tried on various PDF417 barcodes using a 4S. The green frame hunts around, sometimes correctly locating the code, not one scanned.

Would like to see better translation on drivers license info. Doesn't give you a way to customize the categories (height, weight, name, address, zip code, eye color, sex, hair color, drivers license class, drivers license number, expires, date of birth, issued, state, city, and restrictions) if this was to change I would give it a better rating...
