Mäxchen (also Mäxle or Meiern) is a game of dice which is very popular in Europe.
For those of you who don't know the rules yet:
It is a dice game which is very easy to learn and suitable for any number of players. Each player throws the dice in turn and tries to get a higher number then his/her predecessor. Bluffing/lying is possible because the dices are covered. The real or imaginary number is announced to the subsequent player, who may decide to believe or not. If the subsequent player detects the bluff correctly the first player gets one point taken off. Is the subsequent wrong then he gets one point taken off.
The order of the dice numbers: 31, 32, 41, 42, 43, 51, ..., 65, 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 21 (also called Mäxchen/Mäxle/Meier).
If one player announces a Mäxchen to his subsequent player then he/she can do the following:
- believe the result without seeing the dices -> he accepts the result and gets only one point taken.
- don't believe the announcement but it was correct -> he gets two point taken off
- don't believe the announcement and it has been a bluff -> the first player gets two points taken off
One turn is finished when a player gets one or two points taken off..
On the first turn the best looking player starts, the following round the looser of the previous turn.
The aim of the game is not to get points taken off but to get your friends loose as often as possible.
I downloaded this because my friends and I had talked in the past about potentially playing the game Liar's Dice, which is featured in the console video game Red Dead Redemption. What this actually is is something somewhat similar to Liar's Dice, but there isn't actually anything in the app for playing against the computer or anything like that. It essentially provides you with two dice, and the ability to roll them + conceal/reveal your die. You'd need multiple people with iPhones with this app, but even then it's 2 dice instead of 5 dice, so not ideal.
This is not a game, it is a cup with two dice under it. Shake your iPhone, use your finger to lift the cup, see the dice. That's it. The graphics on the cup and dice are very nice and realistic. I'd give this three or maybe four stars based on the graphics, and smooth animation of the cup. But because this is supposed to be a GAME, I have to give it one star.
This app doesnt suppose to be a game against a computer. Its an app for a party game! for the case you dont have a cup and 2 dices. So for playing this you need friends and something to drink or whatever and this app. And this app isnt special but it does what it needs todo if you wanna play this game. So stop complaining its not a game. Cuz its not a game its a app for a game. The app is simple , nice and handy and does what it need to do. So 5 stars
