Need to reign in the cheats

GlendaleHalls

First, in fairness I must say the game itself is great. The problem became evident as I raised the stakes and played more seasoned players. I thought I was playing people who spent crazy amounts of money buying “undo’s”. It’s obvious when they’re using them because of increased roll time. But a quick YouTube search revealed they are cheating. Reprogramming the game to give them unlimited undo power. So when they need two sets of doubles to take you off, you can count on it. There was no way they were that lucky every time. And that’s just the only cheat I know. There easily could be more direct cheats that impact the game even more unfairly. I don’t like the undo to begin with, but that’s how they make money, so I’ll deal with it. But people who abuse it? No thanks.

The game works so that both opponents catch up in the game, if you’re losing it will make sure you get the highest numbers, if you’re winning it will take very long for the game to give you the number you need to finally win even if it’s a 1. It could take 10 or more turns throwing to get a 1 when at the same time the opponent is getting 2 double 6 and then a 6 and a 5. Is just very frustrating. Would rather play in person that in the app.

Well developed, bad non-gameplay features

The app is well built, with a clean interface and user experience. That said, the business logic and the manner in which they chose to monitize the game is obnoxious. - They favor a “pay to win” strategy where your opponent can buy the ability to re-roll dice constantly (in the form of “gems”). It creates an annoyingly unfair playing field. - The game introduced the concept of “leagues” in which you compete with other players by trying to win the most gold. But the way they allocate players to leagues is very “gameable”, and you end up with people in lower leagues than they should be, which again creates an unfair advantage. - Their matchmaking algorithm is non-existent. I have <100K gold (the currency of play), a 58% win rate, and am in the lowest league level. Yet I’m constantly finding myself matched up against players in the highest tier with 100M gold and significantly higher win rates. It’s a shame that the great gameplay implementation done by the developers is overshadowed by such lousy decisions on the surrounding non-gameplay.
