Word-building meets deck-building in the unique game Paperback. Players start with a deck of letter cards and wild cards. This is like their own bag of ‘scrabble’ tiles. With each hand of cards you make a word and score it. This score is how much money you have to purchase more cards for your deck. Collect cool letters with abilities, such as drawing more cards or double word score. Buy Novel cards to gain ‘fame’ points to win the game!

Can’t even open it

I love this game but I can’t even get it to open, it crashes on startup. Been this way for weeks and no update. Come on and fix it already!

Don’t get duped into buying this game like I did. Maybe it’s great for 8-year-olds, but if you’re an actual adult, it’s tedious and dull and a waste of money.

I love the game concept and may eventually buy the physical game. I play it with my partner once a week or more and we have a blast. I thought I was pretty good at word games but she usually wins, and that keeps things interesting.. The only issue I have with the app is that it does crash or freeze once every few games, wiping out whatever game we were playing. The most persistent bug seems to be a crash while playing, then when we restart the app and try to ‘continue game’, the app crashes while loading, every time. annoying, but not a game breaker. 4 stars for fun, 5 if they can clean up the bugs a little more.

Ugh. Played on a friends phone, then purchased my own copy. Haven’t even played a game but wish I had read reviews to see about the music issue. I mix mobile games with baseball games and podcasts. This won’t see much play until it’s fixed.

I love the game but for some reason the cards at the bottom are frozen leaving me unable to make a word.
Fun but way too buggy

The game itself is very fun, but the app is very buggy. In approximately half of my games, I lose the ability to move cards from my tray into the scoring position, without any way to resolve it, forcing me to abandon the game.

I love Paperback, but even putting aside the missing attack cards, it would be neat if the missing Common Cards were added, along with some of the cards from the expansion released as part of the Hardback Kickstarter. In addition I periodically have to shut down the game because it won’t let me move cards. Finally, no matter what I try I can’t get the pending games badge to show up on the app icon on my iPhone, so I sometimes leave games sitting for a day or two. Still, worth the money, but it could be better.

As others have stated, the game itself is great but the app is glitchy and freezes. I wish I had read more reviews before buying because it doesn’t look like they’re going to fix it...

I love the game, but it freezes and I can't play any cards. At first a minor annoyance, but recently it has become unplayable because it freezes every game.

Awesome card game. Unplayable buggy for me for some reason. Freezes every few minutes. Uninstalled and tried again. Fun, but I’ve never finished a game. Leaving it til next update and we’ll see. (iPhone 8)
