Beautiful Free Game

I've played Ophidia too many times to count and no matter how many times I progress through the levels, I am constantly in awe of the art of this game. The detail of the different backgrounds are incredibly indicative of the dev team's passion for the project. Moreover, I hope that if anyone is curious about the game, they will give it a try. You will lose yourself within the worlds of Ophidia and it will be worth every moment.

Awesome

Beautiful game, 10/10. Needs a particle effect to explode when you eat an enemy tho... That'd look nice...

Nice game with a native aesthetic
This ia awsome!

I would like to thank the indie creators of this game. The soundtrack and art–It's really beautiful. And the way that the writing is written–Although scarce–makes it blend in with the whole game's design. The art style fits in with the "natural" and "native" theme of the game. The colors are picked well along with that; the colors on each stage work well with each other, and don't clash. The art is reminiscent of Aboriginal art, rendered in a flat 2D interface. You play as a snake, and consume prey the way snakes do—by circling around them, thus trapping them. Once you do, the prey vanishes and you grow a little longer. You first circle the smaller ones, then go up until you are long enough to circle the "boss" in the center. After the first level, you will find that your opponents have "Survival" abilities. They usually relate to the abilities of the animals they are based off of (ex: flying for a bird) and are used to make that trapping your enemies is harder. You "adapt" to this, and use trial and error to find strategies to capture your prey; It mirrors the natural world. The is game mostly self-taught, there are only about two instructions that it gives. I feel that this is fitting, it's a very natural thing. Animals act upon intuition. It fits with the theme, yet again. I find no issues with this game, it's beautiful, and perhaps there is a hidden message you can interpret from the gameplay. I'll leave that up to you. The only thing is that there are only four stages. Other than that, it's fun to play. Overall, this was a pleasing little game, and I hope that the developers continue working on other games.

Won't work.

Doesn't work on an iPad mini 1 running iOS 9.3.5. Disappointed as this game looks nice and like something I'd enjoy playing. ☹️

Beautiful game in simplicity and design
VideoVillain

Ophidia has solid, fluid mechanics and gameplay coupled with fantastic art and a brilliant soundtrack. It had the potential to be even greater with more levels and possibly introducing new mechanics or power ups as you played, but it is already a masterpiece without extras.

wonderful but has room for improvement

My first impression of the game was that it was like a different version of the classical game "snake" where you basically are a snake and you devour prey by wrapping around them, it's a simple plot for a well designed and thought out game. I can easily say that the art style reminds me of the playstation exclusive Dust which was a game that had very beautiful art within it. the music seems very adventurous and indiana jones-esk or like an ancient temple kind of theme. My only problem with it is I wish the music had some parts that made it memorable and cool, as I had heard a song that looped every minute or so. Now the gameplay, The gameplay was good but It could use some work. Most of the time as I was trying to move the snake It would go the opposite way and bite itself, I also think the game would benefit with being a bit faster or have a choice of speed option. Overall this game is excellent but needs to fix these key points to be a 5 star.

Game seemed cool, but...

The snake moves way too slowly and there's too much hesitation in grabbing its tail. When the head and tail glow, it should be automatic if you're not going to speed up the pace of the gameplay. I wanted to like it, but it was way too frustrating to play.

A thing of beauty.

I played this game at the TouchTomorrow program, and it was amazing with the controller. With a screen, it's different but is still really fun. And I'm glad it could be free~
