WHO ARE WE?
OpenSnow.com started in 2011 as a group of snow forecasters who wanted to bring their local expertise to as many skiers and riders as possible. From this humble beginning, we now forecast for more than 1 million people each season. Modern weather forecasts aren’t perfect, but the technology is impressive and is often accurate enough to let you know about powder days before they happen. So let us help you plan ahead and snag some days you’ll never forget.

Indispensable. Don’t leave home without it.
Joel is the man. I wouldn’t trust any other forecaster when it comes to getting accurate snow forecasts for the mountains. Sure, it’s tricky, but Joel does a great job of “showing his work” regarding wind direction, atmospheric moisture, jet stream, and other factors to provide a great picture of the possibilities and most likely scenario. I plan all my ski days around his forecasts.
Brian, I depend on your report DAILY to get to work. To know what the day ahead is going to bring in snow amounts, and how to navigate when and how much I am going have to shovel. Also, it is very reassuring for my son to get to and from school. Your reports are the most accurate I have seen in years. Thank you for your devotion and dedication to the obvious passion of your profession.
I’ve been an all-access member for 5+ years. Open Snow is the best app available for folks who love skiing and spending time outdoors. Very detailed information on conditions, links to ski area cams, and the best forecasts available, with enough detail that you can make good decisions and enjoy yourself. All of this and it costs less than a burger/beer on the mountain. I highly recommend you sign-up for all access and support Joel (Colorado), Brian (Tahoe) and the other local forecasters who bring us this great app.
I just want I to say thank you for having such an amazing app! Bryan is an awesome forecaster for the Tahoe region. I study atmospheric science myself and I know that forecasting is not a walk in the park by any means. Bryan is almost always spot on and when someone asks me what the weather will be like, I quote whatever Bryan says and then tell those people to download OpenSnow. The app changes time to time but I know they do it just to make it better and it takes a little time to get use to but so does every other app when it changes. Keep up the good work guys!!
Every morning I wake up and open this app. Living in a small, mountain community in CO I rely on this app for winter storm forecasts. I have been using their forecasts for years and I am always amazed at the accuracy of their forecasts. Thank you Open Snow! Your an invaluable resource for skiers and community members!
They keep improving it. Now if they could just do something about Corona virus so we could go ski!
