DDG error on Strict security setting

When put to strict security setting DuckDuckGo will not provide search results. The page will load with the search bar on top, what the user entered in, and the little “s” at the end of the search box, but it won’t load anything else. Turning security down resolves the issue. I believe the problem is DDG is not redirecting to the no JS version of the onion site. Otherwise I LOVE the app and the privacy it provides. Thank you for all the hard work! A tip has been applied.

Regrettably, after waiting six months for this update, the “forbidden “ issue when doing a search on DuckDuckGo remains. Is there a setting trick I’m not aware of? Hi Mike, et al. Any idea when the dreaded “forbidden” issue will be resolved? Your browser was great until this sprung up. Thanks.
Latest update broke a really fine privacy browser

For years this has been hands-down the best adaptation of TOR to the iOS platform, combining good usability with pretty solid assurance of privacy for many sites. Unfortunately, this week’s update to version 2.3 has made it incredibly cumbersome to use with any site protected by Cloudflare/Recaptcha, even at the moderate security setting. The interminable delays and unreliable results greatly limit its usefulness. I hope the developer can implement the improvements advertised for v.2.3 without sacrificing usability.

I tried them all and had issues with all but this one. It’s fast and works great.
Blank page returned after every search

Since the last update, after successfully connecting to Tor, every search returns a blank screen whether performed with DuckDuckGo or Startpage, rendering the app unusable.
Search engine still not working after latest update

The DuckDuckGo engine still does not work after the latest December 2019 update. This started happening after the June 2019 update. Any search term put in to the engine elicits a “forbidden” blank page. Furthermore the default page of the browser fails to load - it simply times out. I can’t comment on whether these situations are due changes at the iOS level or whether my internet connection is purposefully being throttled while attempting to use this app or if it is solely an issue with the app. Most likely reason is probably a combination of factors... The developer seems sincere in his efforts to create a secure browsing environment. Whatever is going on, it’s a shame. This app used to work great and I used it a lot...

Can’t even get the search engine to load up if I search anything. It says forbidden. Even if I search the word tor. Check security settings, nothing there should be blocking the search engine. I’m disappointed in this app. I had high hopes because I loved onion browser for pc.
