Big history buff and I absolutely love NYC. Heard about this app from an interview and immediately downloaded it. So cool to see NYC history this way
This app is so fun to browse. It's incredible to explore NYC the way it used to look. This app makes that easy and engaging. It would be nice to see the app run further forward in time, perhaps allowing you to scroll through a chronology up to the present.
I really enjoyed this app. It was so easy for me to navigate the app and find cool pics of how NYC used to be. Now I can go to any of those places and travel back in time !
As much as NYC has transformed architecturally in the last few decades, we still see remnants of the past as exhibited by this wonderful app that provides us all with the access to the history that surrounds us. A great app indeed!
Its pretty amazing to see images from back in the past... Thanks for putting this all together
This is my new favorite app. It's an incredible project and I hope it continues and grows. Every great city should emulate this. In the meantime, I really hope this expands and grows. I appreciate the 6 or so images of my block, and would love to see more! I wonder if the NYPL collection is searchable by streets?
I want to thank the creators of this app. It must have taken years to compile this information! I found several properties including my current company that I'm familiar with that are still standing today from back in the early 1900's! This app is utterly fascinating and addicting!
This app is amazing! So much fun to see how places have changed through time! Love it!????
OldNYC.org is one of my all time favorite websites- I am SO happy to discover they made this into an app! The content is absolutely incredible- you can stop on virtually any street corner while out and about in the city and see what that exact street corner looked like throughout history. Often times you will find not a whole lot has changed (besides cars replacing horse drawn carriage and the trains going below ground, of course). So fun and so interesting- highly recommend to all history buffs!!
