I am disappointed because when i look up youtube on my friends iphone there is a pop up that says Download and when i do it on my iphone nothing pops up for me to download the music video, can you please help me figure this out

My friend told me about this app the other day and how to download music from it. But whenever I open a video on YouTube the pop up never comes up and it always tells me that I can’t download from YouTube for copyright reasons if I try to copy the URL in downloads, but he showed me today that if he taps on a video it asks if he wants to download it automatically. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it’s really annoying and I just want to know what I’m doing wrong.
