The LEADTOOLS OCR Scanner application can perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on images, extract text from images, and convert images to various document formats with superior accuracy and speed.
• OCR, extract, copy & paste the text from an image taken with your phone's camera or photo gallery for editing and sharing.
• Convert and export images to a variety of document formats, including: PDF, DOCX, Text, SVG, and many more.
• Build and recognize multi-page documents
• Multi-language support - OCR images in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and more with support for over 45 different languages (text to speech playback available for most languages as well).
• Select portion of image to export to raw text with two select area modes: Selection Rectangle or Touch & Drag
• Copy image from the viewer
• Text-to-Speech "Speak" option for phone playback of extracted text
• Numerous options for optimizing text recognition including Invert, Rotate, and 3D Deskew
• Use the Intelligent Select Area option that allows you to select an area of an image that has both text and graphics and intelligently extract the text.

Interesting - as far as I can tell this app does nothing. I’ve tried loading scans from my photos and have tried to take a picture from the app. Neither method loads a document into the app. I think the app is broken, at least for the iPad. I’d sure love to have a working version...

And it’s free! I’ve paid money to try other before this and they weren’t nearly as good at recognizing text. I can quickly snap a picture and grab the text off it - this is great! Meaningful, helpful updates from the developer as well. Thanks!

I have never ever written an app review. Downloaded it about half an hour ago. I had to type a 10 page contract in Spanish. Unfortunately I only had the original paper copies with very fine and small print. No digital copies. Feared a long night ahead of very boring typing. Thought maybe there was an app for saving me from this dull task. Looked it up, found this one. It worked flawlessly and now I just need to fine tune style. Did not even read how to use it, figured it myself in a couple of minutes. Great!! Now my wife will also download it after looking at my big smile watching Netflix instead of reading and typing!!

Extremely helpful, this app has saved me many hours of typing chemistry lab reports I gave it a 4 star because I have superstitions.

Clean page, flat, clear light, clear print... the app "extracted" what looked more like HTML than English. Don't waste your time.
