If you want to explore the Earth a billion years in the future in Monte Cook's Numenera, you'll need to be prepared. That's where this app comes in handy! Designed to guide you through character creation for this science-fantasy RPG, the Numenera Character Creator app also allows you to track your progress in real-time while you play.
We'll guide you step-by-step through the character creation process for the Numenera RPG (however, we don’t do the numenera and cypher steps because this will be between you and your GM - see below!).
You'll choose a descriptor, type, and focus. Your choices will automatically create your skills and provide you with your starting equipment. You'll modify your basic stats (Might, Speed, and Intellect), and we'll track your base and your current pool. You can track your damage and recovery rolls, and you'll be able to add or remove abilities and equipment.
Did we say equipment? This does include your numenera items - just go to the Equipment tab, click on the Numenera button, and you can manage your Artifacts, Cyphers, and Oddities.
You'll also be able to modify your background and character description, and we provide a handy field for other notes.
Have you advanced a Tier? No problem! We'll help you upgrade to the next one as your character progresses in power!

This needs work and won't replace the need for the rulebook. Abilities don't have descriptions, so you'll need to refer back. When I got a "roll twice" background, the app couldn't accept two results (you get the one new roll and move on). There's a set skill list, but it doesn't include defense or attack types, and you can't add a skill (for esoteries, for example). Also, the edit button seems to be broken.

Nice quick way to hammer out a character. Useful for players learning how to create characters. No descriptions for abilities, so access to a handbook is needed. Edit and delete functions still need work. Looking forward to future updates.

This app seems to be pretty good. It makes making a character super easy. I would like to see a print option and a text out-put for posting on a forum. One bug I have found is the edit button on the character select screen doesn't always want to work. I try to delete a character and I have to try and push it over and over. Overall, the app is pretty cool. I can't wait to see future updates!
Makes character creation a breeze, but...

Using this app, I found that I could generate a new character in about 10 minutes. However, unless you are fortunate enough to be able to carry your device on you at all times (and I know some GMs who REALLY don't like phones, tablets, or laptops at their tables), I think the ability to print and/or export characters is a must for any future updates. Also, the "Edit" button is broken and the character portraits have only three choices. The ability to import new portraits would also be nice. An excellent start, but it needs some work.

The edit button doesn't work. Selecting "Initiative" skill after having it from "Swift" doesn't specialize. It would make sense that it would. I had to go in to edit it. I agree with other reviews that it needs output options (ie: print, email, text, etc.) As said. It's a good start, but needs more attention to detail! Monte Cook Games and the Kickstarter Backers need a little more from 3lb. Good job so far! New observation!!! Need iCloud support so that my Characters and character changes on my iPad automatically show on my iPhone!!!

The concept is good, but the app is slow and several things simply do not work (I'm looking at you, edit button.) It also needs a working help file explaining how to use all the features properly.

As mentioned in the title, I like the app so far. I've only used it for a few hours to quickly generate a few character types I'm interested in trying out. A few problems I've noticed: - The "wields power with precision" selection doesn't automatically update the character intellect pool. - The "edit" button does not seem to work, so I can't delete characters I don't want to keep. Things I'd like in future upgrades: - A way to export/print/share (to other devices of my own or to my DM) - A way to add or change information that's already in there. For instance, I want to change out one skill from a trait for another but can't. It would be nice to have that option. - I'd like to see real cost amounts, with edge included. So, it might cost 1 point to do something, but because I have an edge of 1 in that pool, it wouldn't cost me anything. - While I haven't looked closely at play with this app yet, it would be nice to keep track of pools in game with this sheet. - Add what impaired or debilitated does in game. - More character images, or at least make all images available for all characters. Hope to see some more updates, but I'll definitely keep using this.

Not more convenient than pencil and paper, given all the missing information and that you can't print or export, so you'll probably need to copy everything to a character sheet when you're done anyway. Also, the UI is finicky, non-standard, and is slightly unresponsive. Seems like a half-baked rush job.

Prior to the update, it was not really useable. After the update, it fixed my issues, but now it freezes when I try to choose something to add (ie: weapon selection). Almost there!
