Numbler is a game where players build math equations in a familiar crossword style board. All the mental fun of popular board and online word games, but with numbers instead of letters.
FEATURES:
▪ Simple and addictive gameplay that people love from well-known word games
▪ Challenge other players online or test yourself against the computer
▪ A fun and educational way for students to sharpen their math skills
▪ Suitable for all ages: children to adults
PLACING TILES
Players take turns forming or extending equations in a horizontal or vertical direction. Tiles must be placed according to the following rules:
1. Each turn must use at least 1 tile from the board and 2 tiles from your hand
2. All adjacent tiles must be part of a true and complete equation
3. Tiles cannot be moved once they are played
4. Players may choose to pass and forfeit their turn
5. The game ends when both players pass twice in succession
SCORING
The score for a turn is the sum of each digit in the equations formed or extended during that turn, according to the following rules:
1. Operator and equal sign tiles have no score value but do help capture bonus tiles.
2. The value of two consecutive number tiles is the sum of their individual values. So a 1 and 2 tile placed beside each other has a value of 3, not 12
3. The value of a created or extended equation is increased or multiplied by bonus tiles covered by tiles placed during the turn
What happened to this game? I used to love it. Please bring back online multiplayer and the recall function. It is no longer a challenge.
Game was good, but they updated it and now you can’t play other people. The computer is no challenge.
Overall this game is smooth, has critical thinking, and is fun. My only suggestion for an update is to be able to play others over wifi. Besides that it's perfect! Thanks for creating the app :)
Not just linear math thinking. Observation and strategy are required to play this app well. I played it for an hour before even letting my kids play ;-) It's a permanent app in my iPad games folder.
I heard about Numbler on Edmodo - downloaded it & immediately got hooked! My only wish is for parentheses & the opportunity to play my friends across the country. So far, I've always beat the computer & only lost to my son. Fun & challenging game.
Awesome game, never deleting. One thing it needs is a way to play people around the world like the game, Words with Friends.
Great game! Was up for a minute playing my bright 7th grader in Scrabble and found this App to assist her before bed on Christmas 2012 night! She hated it at first but really got into it as the x-mas break went on. Looking for more!
I really enjoy this game but it should tell you WHY you can't play a certain combination instead of telling you that you just can't. also it needs better instructions. Other than that this is completely addicting and a great brain exercise it is very fun.
