I’ve been trying this app on and off over the years. It only gets worse to the point it’s barely functional now. And they pester you so much. It fails at being a step up from an FM signal in any way.
Still hard to navigate after redesign

Why is this app so hard to navigate even after a redesign? The one program that seems most popular, the most recent national newscast, doesn’t always come up when the app is opened. Trying to find it is a pain. If you get distracted while it’s playing and go past it, it’s no longer findable (at all) on any screen.
Battery hog. Buggy

All I want is a way to listen to my local station feed. They don't seem to want to let you do this. Also this app drains my battery so fast I don't listen unless plugged in. It's been a couple of years and I don't see the app improving.

I was a long time user of the NPR One app now it will no longer load any content and crashes any time I click on anything can’t even get hourly news briefing I want this app to work so badly.

NPR One will not work on Carplay. Interface launches but cannot fetch any programs. It’s been like this for years. Please fix this streaming pile of app. Thank you.

I listen hours & hours of NPR podcasts every week but have given up on this NPR One app. A major point of listening to apps is the convenience to listen to the desired content without having to touch or even look at the screen on my iPhone or iPad. I should be able to listen to all the stories on the selected date for All Things Considered or Weekend Edition with a single tap. And that works beautifully on the NPR app. NPR ONE, however, presents a more cluttered screen that makes it harder to find what I want to hear… and then, once we start, it stops after each daggone story and needs more input from me! When it tries to guess what I’d like to hear next, it is always wrong! I cannot fathom why the house ads on the NPR app keep promoting NPR One. We know about it.. and much prefer the dynamic, simpler version.

I want to love this app, if it ever gets better I will leave a positive review. I spend hours listening to NPR, but they keep making it harder to get to the actual news. Gestures and other niceties keep disappearing from the app, I am not a great developer but I know better than to take away a gesture. Now it’s been months since the Apple TV app worked at all and it keeps getting later and later in the day when my local news is posted, usually now up to 3 hours after it airs. Even just a dark mode would be a welcome change.

For years, I’ve woken up and just hit “play” on NPR One to hear exactly my preferred shows, stories and station. Now this has all been erased and I’m supposed to use a login to do it all again? As a longtime user, I am not sure if I had a login or what. All I know is I’m disappointed in the last two updates and hoping it all comes back.
I love this app but….

I’ve tried to use this app several times in the last week and it won’t play. Extremely buggy right now but usually works great. I just want the dev team to be aware that there is a bug that display error message in blue banner at the top of the screen and says “audio failed. We’ll try next story”… please fix!!!
