NPC For Hire isn’t just another random character generator. It is a story driven aid for GMs. The app allows you to quickly create and save NPCs before and during your games. GMs will be able to spin up a story that is not only compelling, but will immerse players in a fantasy world without extensive preparation.
Each character has an alignment, unique bio, and interesting feats and flaws. The bio gives a brief description of the NPC's background. Feats and flaws help GMs quickly come up with story telling points and direction on how best the character can be played. Items are also generated for each character so the pickpocket of the group always has opportunity to find something interesting.
NPC For Hire currently only supports the human race. We have 6 human sketches currently available with a plan to update that to 52 sketches in the near future. We also plan to add elf and dwarf packs as in-app purchases at a later date.

Wide eyed wildlife
The artwork is great to display to players. The small details of flaws and personality make using the characters easily fleshed out, memorable and interesting. Especially for improv and unexpected times. I’ve used this like i roll the dice, the characters might meet a friendly which i can give plot helps or they might meet a foe. The predesigned work makes the unexpected even fun for me as the DM. Great work Austen!

This app looks great and has solid features. It is a little limited right now, but even so is a useful GM tool. If the developers continue to add options and to the pool of artwork and character descriptions, this will be a must-have for any GM.

NPC for Hire is a great app! Not only keeps my NPCs organized but the random traits/items have helped to further develop their back stories. The sketches are all beautifully done, and I hope they continue to support the app and add more! Would definitely recommend.

I am working on a new campaign and I can already tell this will be a crucial tool for me. There’s already so much here to use. If the dev keeps supporting this it will be one of the most useful rpg tools for ipad. The only feature I would love to see added is the ability to use my own artwork or saved images to custom npc’s. This would ensure zero overlap in pictures. Still, you couldn’t buy this much quality artwork anywhere for $5, and with the added features its beyond a must have. Great work devs!

This app is exceptional! If the creator makes it so that you can also import images to his already large selection it would be perfect. I would then be able to move all my campaigns existing NPC’s here.

The price of this could only be merited because of the artwork that is included for the NPC generation. It’s a pretty basic random generator although it may appeal to some GMs more than it did to me.
