Ok app

This is a great idea but it needs more situations. I hope to see more development on this app.

Found a mistake

The situation was a hidden ball trick and the runner was tagged out. The answer the app wanted was the trick is legal and the play stands. However, the pitcher was on the rubber without the ball and therefore a balk should have been called. Reference rule 8.05 comment (a): "Straddling the pitcher's rubber without the ball is to be interpreted as intent to deceive and ruled a balk." The first time through, everything matched up. The second time through, every video and answer screen was off. Also the hidden ball trick is legal, but the pitcher was on the rubber without the ball, BALK.

Hidden ball trick

They emphasize the fact the the pitchers foot is on the rubber and the balk option is not there. You can not be on the rubber without the ball. Balk!

Great Start

This App is a great start and with fine tuning has the potential of being a great asset for old and young umpires alike. The fact that it has some very good questions that are actual things umpires could see during the course of their career is overshadowed by the video questions to matching their respective questions answer. This occurs several times throughout. Additionally, I would like to see more questions than the original 25 since I got this app over two months ago as well. All in all fix these issues, add more questions, then I'll give you a 10 of 5!

Rookie App

I'll give it one star for being loud and obnoxious. The fact that the app was wrong on two calls should earn it a rating on no stars. Come on guys - get the calls right...

It's got potential

Like the others I quickly discovered the error regarding the hidden ball trick. The correct call is a balk because the pitcher toed the rubber. Then the berating that followed the incorrect answer was a bit much. Tone it down. The pro version might be worth buying if it doesn't have mistakes.

Good concept, terrible execution

As an umpire of 17 years that does D1 college baseball, I was excited to try this app, but it is just annoying as hell. The sound bites are annoying and repetitive. Each sound bite is a different volume so you turn it down when the question is read and each choice is louder than the next. They debut with 10 questions, 1 of which is wrong. The hidden ball trick is a balk because you can't be on the rubber without the ball. The second time I played it I was shocked to see the same 10 questions and that time the video didn't match up to questions. You can't rewind or replay the video, and if you touch the screen during the video, it goes to the question without seeing the play. If the audio wasn't so bad that my wife looks over to say, "turn that off!", and if they got the plays right, I might think about paying to see the other plays, but based on what I've seen so far, no way.

You cant hear

When it is telling u the answers u have to turn up the volume. It also does the same situations all the time. It isn't like umpiring in real life.

Much better & informative!

Much better since fixing mistakes. Explanations are pretty thorough and easy to understand. Please come out with more situations though.
