The Olive Tree bible app is superb. It’s highly customizable, you can have an entire library of bible versions, maps, devotionals, commentaries etc. and have two books open simultaneously. Read a passage in your favorite translation then look over at your favorite commentary or study notes to help attain a deeper understanding of the scriptures. Visually it looks identical to your paper bible, right down to the words of Jesus in red, (if you want, even that is customizable). You can highlight passages with any color you like, you can add notes and bookmark pages. Chain reference searches are all hyperlinked as well. No more holding four fingers between references, just tap the screen and a small window opens up with all the available links. Tap a link and read the verse then hit the back button and select another. When finished tap the main bible page and the small window disappears. The version I purchased came with the NIV translation pre-installed in addition to the translations that come with the free standard version, (King James and others). I added the NIV study notes and several other translations, many of which Olive Tree gives away for free or highly reduced prices from time to time. I now take my iPad to church and can jump to passages in about 3 or 4 seconds rather than the 20 to 30 it used to take me with a paper bible. I was a little worried about moving to an electronic version of the bible, but, I must say, It’s so much easier plus I have my entire library with me in case I want to check out a map or glance at the study notes. Try the free standard version of the Olive Tree app first and if you like it just start adding the translations you prefer one at a time.

I do NOT like the changes made on the latest update. I can no longer switch from version to version easily and find the place I left off reading from day to day. This was not a good update. Caron B

I carry my phone with me everywhere I go. Now with the app on my phone, I have my bible with me at all times!

It’s a great application, once you download it, you don’t need the internet or WiFi. Great resources if you like study bible and there’s no need to download dictionaries separately they all in the store. Even paid version of the are not overpriced. Anything that is bought can be accessed from many devices without being limited like some apps.
Multiple windows?

In a previous version, multiple windows were easy to work with. Not so anymore.

Search capability on key words

I use this app every morning. It is outstanding. I especially like being able to search on key words and it then shows all the verses that contain that word in the Bible. It is fascinating to me seeing the patterns and how I can usually find a key verse that applies to what I am going through or thinking about.
