Spectacular game! Artwork is beautifully detailed, story line is well conceived and keeps your interest, and the game play is long! Super variety of puzzles. What's not to love?!

Has Everything We Love!!!

Fantastic Game! Has all the things we want; teleporting map, great graphics, cutscenes were to the point, interesting storyline, lots of mini-games, could use a few more HO (always my fav), customizable difficulty for each level, long game play, bonus game, etc. Highly recommend this game! Enjoy!

High quality at every level...fun, challenging, well made

Update. Still a great game but reducing to 4.5 stars for the following reasons: - many of the mini puzzles don't appear to have reset or match 3 options, so if you make a mistake, you have to skip. - some of the items in the HOP puzzles are very hard to locate (small items, dark scenes) - the HOPs are all the same...find one thing, then use it to find another. It gets a little repetitive. Not huge points for any of the above, but enough to deduct a half star. I am still playing the game, will revise if things go pear shaped..?? but for now, this game is five star in every aspect. Fundamentals? Check. Great graphics, voice overs, teleporting map that also shows collectibles and morphs, labeled inventory, hints, morphing and collectibles, long play, lots of different scenes, etc. Storyline? Check. Characters, storyline works, logic (knowing where to go, what to do next without having to rely on hints), being able to really get into the game. And strategy guide is inside the game, which is so nice. Puzzles and minigames? Check. Lots of variety and levels of challenge. Add long play time, and just loads of fun...it's a winner. Great jobs, Five BN devs! Definitely recommend this game, at sale or regular price. You won't be disappointed. Again--Great job, and I'm looking forward to playing more of these games. Hi to all the reviewers, and thanks for the heads up! ????

Almost Five Stars If Only My Progress Wasn't Lost! :-(

I loved everything about this game...great storyline, graphics, voice overs , hidden object scenes and mini games. Loads of extras to look for throughout the game including a collection of items and morphing objects. The main game and bonus chapter were both nice and long as well. My only tiny complaint would have been that I wish there was a variety of the type of hidden objects to search for in the HOS like a worded list of times to find instead of just shadowed shapes. Unfortunately, all of that changed when I wasn't far from finishing the bonus chapter and all of my progress disappeared. I went away for a bit and came back to the game starting from the beginning. What a bummer!!!? If I didn't already know this was released by Big Fish in the pc version, the technical issue at the end was a bad reminder of the issues I've had with their games lately as well. It's a real shame because until that, this game had been the best I'd played in a while and if they fix the issue the game really is great!!!

Beautifully done! Love this series!

I played this first installment after I played the second and third in the New York Mysteries series. I expected that it wouldn't be quite up to par with those games, but boy, was I wrong! The storyline for Secrets of the Mafia feels like an episode of The X Files set in the 1950s. The graphics, animation and cut scenes are unbelievably good. The minigames are inventive. The HOPs are complex and resemble treasure hunts more than hidden object quests. The gorgeous map enables teleportation and shows you where there are available tasks and collectibles. Your progress and key clues are captured in a helpful journal. Sensitivity of the touch screen and item location are spot on. There is a lengthy bonus chapter with an interesting story that could spawn a prequel. Literally my only criticism is that the soundtrack is noticeably repetitive. There were no crashes or glitches, and I didn't experience any of the issues I had with the second and third installments of New York Mysteries. I strongly recommend this game, and I know I'll play it again.

Fun

Entertaining.

Just the kind of game I like!

LOVE the artwork and cut scenes! Music gets repetitive, and a lot of the tasks are a little trite in the first two I’ve played - lots of rusty stuff needing oil, stone wells with missing buckets or cranks (where do you see stone wells like that any more?), stitches that need cutting, etc. And the female characters in this “1950s” setting are in the wrong era entirely, with their bellbottom slacks, chunky-heeled boots and even a miniskirt! Despite the anachronisms, I enjoyed the story, the detailed scenery, and the tasks. This one even gave me a couple of scares!

Sometimes you need to go away to stay in love!

This game has been trying to tell me something for over an hour. I just couldn’t figure it out until I went away and came back. I have to give it 5 Stars. It keeps me enthralled and engaged for great amounts of time, Whoever does the graphics and the storylines has my thanks for presenting with something that keeps me engaged.
