Terrible Ai and controls

VanillaNyx

While controlling the fox boy, the girl repeatedly walks off a cliff. Even when I position her far from the cliff, she decides to walk off. Then the fox boy gets stuck in the mountain and glitches.

Blown away

This game is incredible. You play as an Iñupiat girl and her Arctic Fox companion as they journey to find the source of a blizzard that has precluded her village from hunting caribou, which they need to survive. Throughout, you score “cultural insights,” 1-2-minute pieces of documentary footage that deepen your cultural understanding of the Iñupiat, their traditions and stories, and their relationship with their environment. You have to find the hidden owls to gain them, so you end up working hard to learn about them. I missed three of them by the time I was done, and I went back and replayed the levels to find them all. It’s gorgeously done, front to back; it’s challenging; it’s so smart. And I CRIED AT ONE POINT BECAUSE I WAS SO MOVED My only criticism is that sometimes the controls don’t work as expected, even when I changed the level of joystick sensitivity, so there were moments of frustration when I had to replay some scenes several times because I couldn’t get the fox to clamber up a wall properly.

Not exactly worth the money

Codyn17

So when I first saw this game it was in a apple store and I wanted to download it on my iPad when I got home but when I looked at it costed money which I was pretty bummed about. The only reason I have this game is because I got a gift card and used that to buy it. They have added to the story line but then the developers abandoned the app. The graphics are ok and the story sometimes gets emotional but with all the great graphics and sooooo much going on it closes you out of the app sometimes. I am a huge gamer and have experienced many different video games that can cost up to 40 dollars but they were worth it. But I think this game would be worth if it was like a dollar for the full version and free for the demo but because the developers abandoned the app it lost all of it’s potential to be better. It was updated last more than a year ago.

Horrible controls

Save your money. Bad controls and really boring. Buy Limbo, Inside or Albert & Otto. All are 100 times better.

Beautiful but frustrating

Rebecculous

I love the graphics, and the first few unlockable videos were very cool, but upon reaching the ocean and the first spirit guide, I'm embarrassed to confess I got, and remain, completely stuck. There need to be hints, the controls are wonky, and it’s really hard to play for me as an adult, my grandchildren both gave up in frustration.

Never Alone Ki Edition- Reveiw

Cool game, I think the price should be lowered a little bit. The point of the game is confusing, controls are a little wonky. No joke, I love the game, just a few problems. But I’m not complaining. ?

Good game, terrible controls

This would be an outstanding game that you would recommend to everyone IF the controls and motions were not so finicky. In very quick parts of the game you have to have exact movements. You will literally die a dozen times in a row trying to jump across one ledge because you don’t have it exactly right. Further frustrating you will be the fact that once you meet part two of your companion, the joystick control will continually stick in one direction. Forcing your companion to go that way until the control unsticks or you point another direction. I was initially have a great time with this game in the beginning and I really enjoyed it! But as time went on I grew to become very frustrated with the game and I started resenting it and at the end I hated it.

Great Game

While the game may start a little confusing, you eventually get the hang of it. The graphics are incredible and fit the story line well. It is worth the time, and is so touching I started crying in public. 10/10

Amazing but frustrating

I bought this game after playing Playdead’s Inside because I was looking for more amazing side-scroll games. This game is incredible - amazing graphics, good story, and the cultural insights were really cool. However, the controls drove me out-of-my-mind frustrated, especially the controls involving moving and jumping. It lagged a lot, and often out of nowhere I’d be unable to move. This caused me many deaths that I could have otherwise avoided. Fix the controls and I’d give this five stars. It’s also not really worth the price. But, it’s still worth playing.
