My Favorite Navigation App but...

UPDATE! Why is Navigon being removed??? despite it's current flaws, I believe it is the BEST Navigation App....part of the problem is marketing...I dont know a Single person who has an Android device or iOS device that has ever heard of Navigon...why is this? that needs to change....emphasize that it works without Cellular Data...make that ULTRA clear....the other Maps really don't do this...only partially or locally are they able to do this by letting you predownload certain maps. and GREATLY reduce the price! and include ALL maps of the whole USA. Dont't remove the app not stop supporting it! Recent update further and further ruined the app to almost fircing me to use Google Maps which Keeps getting better and better. This appis becoming severly Dangerous...it has on multiple occasions told me to turn Right (by Voice) when the map shows clearly to make a left...and it does this when even no right turn exists...also totally miscalculating a trip that takes 17 hours and telling me it will take 1hr and 10 minutes. Why must upgrades alway have to equal Corrupt downgrades? True definition of what we expect upgrade to mean: Upgrade: To add to an otherwise great app, without taking away anything or changing anything including the interface! What Upgrade is not: Believing because you changed it, that it means you improved it....chaging the interface to a fresh nee look (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)...also believing because you adeed features, but in order to do so you had to reprogram the whole thing means its better...listening to every single user complaints (even though many of them are wrong....you have to ignore some people)...and one more thing...instead of updating the app to work on newer devices and new versions of iOS....it is better to leave the old one alone...leave it compatible with older devices and leave it available in the app store...and then create the newer one updated for newer devices..using the same code sonthat it is still downloadable on older devices and they can have both versions and the newer models can have the new version made for it...thatway is something fails..you still hve your perfectly working older one....many developers have apps already do this where you can download or keep the old original version...but that old version should get fixes if any needed....fixes for the old devices it works on...not to make it work on newer ones hence possibly screwing it up.

Privacy-violating garbage

App has gone from bad to worse. Now it refuses to navigate unless you tell it where you live and where you work.

No map updates?

I've had this for years and never once saw a map update.

iPhone 5S- Navigon + Music = Bad Experience

DougFNJ

Still haven't fixed audio issues. It randomly decides between Bluetooth and plugged in input. Volume is ridiculously loud at low volume setting while decreasing music volume. I have to go into settings to decrease audio and then if I unplug the phone and plug it in again I have to decrease again. App randomly occasionally crashes. Directions are not as accurate as they used to be. This used to be the perfect GPS app and it seems like it is getting worse with every update. Please fix the bugs.

Barely any POI addresses

Johns769

This app has always had very little ability to navigate to POIs like restaurants or stores, but compensated for that lack with an ability to retrieve store addresses from Google. Navigon has removed that ability and still lacks its own address data. Nav sw that does not know where anything is will rarely get you anywhere.

No Cell Signal Needed- great feature!!

Kilm3r

This is the best all around navigation app I have tried. It is a bit fussy with the customization and other menu options, but once you learn it's tricks, it's a quite powerful tool that does not require a cell phone signal in order to work. That's right-- you can use this mapping app even when you have ZERO bars. I travel a lot and I'm often in the middle of nowhere with horrible cell phone reception. Navigon can rely solely on your phone's built in GPS beacon to orient itself and provide you with accurate directions. Of course, having good cell phone reception improves accuracy of the results, and you need cell signal to use optional features like traffic optimization, but it's a comfort to know that if I'm traveling in some remote national park and can't get a good cell signal, Navigon can be trusted to continue to work with just my GPS. Highly recommend over Google Maps and Apple Map, which both absolutely require you to have a cell signal in order to work *AT ALL*.

NO GOOD

Bluetooth voice navigation stopped working with the latest update - making the app USELESS to me. Please FIX - the native maps app is not having this problem, so I know the problem is Navigon!! iOS 7.0.6

Simply the best!

Very simply, the #1 navigation app! My friends always ask me about it when driving with me. Reliable with great info. Well worth the money!! I have full confidence in following this app.
