A steady march past perfection

One of the few apps to continuously surprise me with its invention. It was a solid performer to begin with, but each update opens up new options I hadn't even considered.

Was always good, but...

...this new update makes it a must have. Exceptional. April 2016: And again! November 2016: Still being polished, still top of its own tree. Recommended.

Quite Simply the MVP app on my ipad

Mark Thomas Walker

I don't write many reviews, but I feel compelled to write one for this app because it is the single most useful tool on my ipad. It has changed the way I interface with my hardware synths and helped me become a better songwriter. I'm a guitar player by training, but a synth lover by heart. If my keyboard skills were as good as my guitar skills I'd be golden, but since they are not, this app helps me fill the gaps in skill by taking care of my left hand chording. I can't say enough good things about this app. If there were ten stars, I'd still want to give it eleven.

Very good

This app is a very good midi controller. Its layout is simple to understand and playable. A couple of requests for development: A full screen mode for either chords or keys. This would give more playing area and more room for the x y cc control of the pads/keys. As it is it does not allow accurate movements due to small size. A dedicated mod wheel. Or since its on touch screen possibly a velocity wheel. The keys to have the option to be inline while in key. So the black keys in that scale would drop down to the white keys. Like Animoog or PPG. I appreciate the work already put in and realize these things may not be achievable. I recommend this app to everybody who asks!

Awesome product

photoenthu

this is the most used app at this point on my music iPad

Awesome chord interface

MusixMonkey

The ability to route single midi notes to the chord pad and play your progression is brilliant. The tonnetz implementation is great. One wish would be the ability to more easily play more unique chord shapes with a single press. Major and minor in the triangle is cool, but maybe a way to press a button to activate like a maj5, then press root? Pressing weird shapes is kind of a pain on the screen. Too easy to miss the little dots.

Nice app

MazRS

Great app. Good chord structure insight. Excellent sampled sounds (particularly the piano)

This is SOOOOOOO Cool!

03.17 brings more updates! I really appreciate the developer continuing to support this app. If you haven't bought this app yet do so! I really like being able to see the corresponding notes! Very easy to use! ~~~The last update has brought awesome features! Metronome, loop playing, & length of loop played! You can set up chords very easy too! MIDI !!!!!! Along with mapping. I love the ease of this app. AND it's educational! Very easy for me to use while playing drums! Nice work! So glad this app continues to be supported

Essential for Songwriting & Performance

TobyRyan

This is the best Chord sequencer I have used on iOS. It's very intuitive in the sense that you don't need to have a lot of knowledge in music theory to use Navichord. In fact, it'll assist in easily learning how to use the Roman numeral system of chord progressions and creating interesting melodies to go with them. It's fast, it's fun and for advanced users it has MIDI routing to specific channels. A great way you might take advantage of this is, let's say you have three instruments on three tracks, Navichord can route the root notes to the bass (channel 1), chord notes to the piano (channel 2) and the melody notes to a synth lead (channel 3). Basically allowing you to control and play all three with Navichord - giving you the sound of a full arrangement with a few taps. It even works well synced over WiFi with macOS when paired through Apple's Audio/MIDI app. An Essential songwriting tool for the studio as it's an excellent MIDI controller. It's also Universal! Traveling and don't have your iPad but want to jam? iPhone has you covered. Hope this helps you decide based on some key features I've enjoyed. Party on!
