NAGDU Guide & Service Dog Info

The NAGDU Guide & Service Animal Information & Advocacy app provides general information about the state and federal laws from the United States, as well as the laws from Canada, that protect the civil rights of disabled individuals who use service dogs. The app contains excerpts from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), each of the state statutes, and the various laws from Canada that protect the rights of those who use service dogs, as well as general guidance concerning access to specific types of establishments, such as hotels, restaurants, health care facilities and more. In addition, this app provides the ability to directly connect with a live advocate who has been specially trained to help you resolve access issues as they occur.

Got this app to help me when I am denied access and such to share the laws and boy am I happy!! Super great and no need to pass out cards in awkward situations (cards are still helpful though!) thank you!

Lucky for me, I haven’t had to use this app yet. For me and my service dog I haven’t had much problem with places telling me I cannot go inside. But it is a phenomenal app to be able to just pull the laws up if anybody tries to tell me that I can’t come in. My only question is that is there an app like this for the android system. I’ve got numerous other friends with Guy dogs that have android phones and would love to have this app on their platform.

this is the first app I have seen that gives a comprehensive coverage of all state laws regarding guide dogs as well as all provisions of the ADA. I am really impressed. Thanks to NAGDU for making this app available.

Great app! Now for the first time, if I ever run into access issues, I can pull out my iPhone, and have the relevant state laws at a simple tap of the finger!!

I love that I can have the ADA laws handy instead of needing to buy cards. I wish in the state specific laws however that for Massachusetts and any other state you could add that the state laws say a service dog in training is given the same rights as a service dog.

I downloaded this app months ago and all but forgot about it until I was humiliated by being denied access to a restaurant with my guide, Scout. This kind of crime can make you feel so embarrassed and powerless that you just want to distance yourself from the scene. With the NAGDU app in hand, you won't feel so powerless. when you phone the police, you have the statute in your hand detailing the crime and punishment for interfering with your protected right of enjoying public accommodations. The hotline service is also awesome. Guide dog users shouldn't be without it. Let's hope this never happens to you, but if it does, you're prepared. Rolling the video camera helps as well. No expectations of privacy in public. Thanks NFB and NAGDU!!!
