What distinguishes Curelator Headache from other migraine applications?

“The Curelator approach is unique in that it is specifically designed to allow migraine patients to identify and manage the factors that influence the day-to-day variation in their risk of attacks.”
- Richard B. Lipton, M.D., Director Montefiore Headache Center, Professor, The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Member, Clinical Advisory Board Curelator Headache

Why is it important to identify factors unassociated with each individual’s migraines?

“Finding out something that you don’t have to avoid is as important as finding out something that you do. That’s what is attractive about Curelator.”
- Peter Goadsby, MD PhD, Professor of Neurology, King’s College London, United Kingdom
University of California, San Francisco
Member, Clinical Advisory Board Curelator Headache

Unlike paper diaries or "apps" where patients record volumes of data and try to guess their migraine triggers, Curelator Headache objectively measures the impact of various factors on each individual user and allows them to "test" behavioral changes that may reduce the number or severity of their attacks.

Curelator Headache users spend only 2-3 minutes a day tracking up to 70 migraine-related factors for 90 days, using an iPhone or iPad. It is important to track every day to discover which factors may lead to healthy days vs. migraine days.

- A novel Visual Migraine Language (VML™) Curelator developed with leading migraine neurologists on their advisory board makes data entry fast and fun.

- After 90 days, users receive 4 sets of maps based on an analysis of their data: Individual Protector Map ™, Individual Trigger Map™, Suspected Trigger Map™, No Association Map™, and a Personal Analytical Report they can share with their physician.

- After users receive their maps, we encourage them to continue to track their factors and experiment with behavioral changes with the goal of reducing the number or severity of their migraine attacks.

- The maps are dynamic: Each individual’s Trigger and Protector Maps are updated every 90 days based on new user data. While the maps for each individual user will often remain constant, they may reveal subtle differences over time that reflect the impact of physiological, environmental and dietary changes on their risk of migraine attacks.

Curelator Headache is for people with migraine who experience 2 or more migraine headaches per month.

What is truly groundbreaking about Curelator Headache?

“The concept of ‘protectors’ is quite original as far as I am aware and I don’t think most people (clinicians and patients) think this way.”
- Paul R. Martin, OAM, FBPsS Hon FAPS, Professor, School of Applied Psychology
Griffin University, Queensland Australia
Member, Clinical Advisory Board Curelator Headache

Rip off

I know the researchers are using my information and not giving back anything. After 90 days of entering information they want $50 to tell me, what? I read what they publish. They should be paying me.

App saying I don’t have WiFi or cellular data turned on
Yogagrl23

I was so excited to use this app, but I can’t even get past creating my account because it is not working. Every time I complete the info and then click “confirm and create account” it then gives me an error message that reads: “Error: Please make sure Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on and try again.” I have tried with WiFi, with cellular data, turning my phone off and back on, deleting the app then reinstalling it, and then even using WiFi and cellular data at a whole different location. It doesn’t matter what I do, it still gives me that message. All other apps are working fine and I have a connection so I am not sure what’s wrong. I guess I won’t get to see if this app is any good.

Best app so far for Migraine tracking
MicheleN78

I’ve always failed at tracking my migraines until I started using this app. The reminders keep me consistent with tracking. Once you've tracked 90 days it allows you to make custom factors unique to you. Easy and fast tracking and the reports are super easy to read and my neuro loves the data it displayed including the number of migraine days vs episodes and medication tracking.

Great, just one little problem
WazeQwerty

I’ve been using the app for years. I really like it. The only problem I’m having lately is the daily reminder will randomly stop working. It’s happened to me multiple times. I really need the reminder, otherwise I forget and by the time I notice I’m 3-5 days with a record.

Won’t open reports
Torvanaro

I have been using the app religiously for three months. I was told that after 90 days, my individual maps would be available so I could see my triggers. Every time I try to open the maps, which are said to be available, the app shuts off. What is the point of imputing daily information if I can’t get to the maps, which are supposed to be the helpful part of the app??

A long long way to go
SaraWesterm

My mom told me to always start with something positive: I can track migraine triggers and that only takes me a few minutes each night. It’s a checklist and when you’re finished you created an entry. So I did that for a while and all I saw was that I moving very slowly towards completing the trigger map. It’s super intransparent how many entries you need to complete the maps and the app does a lousy job keeping me motivated. I even upgraded to the premium version which cost me a hefty 50$ or so. Still, all I saw was insufficient entries. Yes, the app offers reports, but they didn’t reveal anything I didn’t know before. Like migraines are related to my cycle. Duh! Also, they say that you can add custom factors every 90 days and when the app prompted me to do so, it showed an error. Customer support said it was a bug. I would have liked to add “time on screen” to it, but it wouldn’t let me. So I am 84% done (whatever that means) and I have entered too many data points to leave the app.

Password for this?

I stopped installing. Why would you require entering a password for this? Waste of time.

Best migraine tracker! ???
Lizsbeth

This is the most specific and evidence based migraine tracker I have found yet very user friendly. It is also flexible enough to enter and track when you take your preventive and acute meds so you can tell your Doc what works for you.

Paid for a subscription-no valuable insights
vestibular m

Bought the app to track possible food triggers for vestibular migraines... nearly one year later and a highly predictable diet I’ve got nothing. I’ve made it a habit to avoid trigger type foods, but the app is not intuitive enough to understand small/large quantities. Have 47 potential triggers/protectors with insufficient data despite daily consumption or tactical experiences that should register after a year. Migraine sufferers... save your money. Curelator improve your algorithms.

Slick!
Mr. bad headache

This is really slick clever design and entering possible triggers everyday is almost even fun. I'm really very desperate to discover what triggers my attacks and this looks like it finally will help me do that! Wish the screen colors were more cheery though.
