Your movies are made up of a series of photos - take each photo in turn, with a semi-transparent overlay (onion skin) of the previous frame to guide you. Alternatively, use the time lapse mode to capture a changing scene over time, or choose photos from your library.
Then use the simple editing and playback tools to build your very own stop motion animation or time lapse movie.
Apply visual effects, including:
- text captions
- wipes and crossfades between scenes
- fade in and out
- black and white
- sepia tint
- red, green and blue tints
- custom color tinting
Finally, record an audio soundtrack to accompany your creation.
Movies can be saved to your library, where you can then view and share them with others via YouTube, email, etc. Movies can also be exported as a series of photos to your library. Your videos can be exported and previewed in reverse!
Recreate your favorite movie scenes in stop motion!
Finally, I'm going to beg one more time for more reviews. Particularly you folks from the US of A! And if you don't want to comment publicly or have private suggestions - please send me an email!
(A quick reply to Hennery's comment: try turning on the "fast photo mode" in the options - this will let you snap away happily without returning you to the UI after every shot.)
It's cool but pretty useless until they allow you to save your movie to view outside of app
Do not get this app unless you have a camera on your device. Please update so that you can import pictures from your pictures file! Otherwise I want a refund!
very limited and no options whatsoever, awfully disappointing. i would like my dollar back.
For 99 cents it's got the basics for my kids. Currently it's the ONLY iPad app that does basic stop frame from photos. I'm satisfied.
Didn't real the full description, assumed it exported a movie, not the single clips.
I'm trying to make a stop action movie using the take new photo option. After taking the first pic, there doesn't seem to be a way to do anything. The only way I can take another image is to navigate out of the app, open it again, click retake, then cancel, then I'm finally back to the main screen. There must be a simpler way to do this, but I can't find any detailed instructions. So I can only rate this app one star.
It may not include sound, but when I export it to my camera gallery, I can watch it and email it to my friends. Plus the onion skin setting can also be helpful. I love this app!
Some of the UI can be a bit unintuitive, but all the features work really well and this app is a great price, so I'm giving 5 stars. I've made some cool videos!
This is by far one of the better stop motion apps for the iPod/iPhone except for one thing: after taking a picture it takes you back to the editing screen. It should have a setting for speed users who just need to take one photo after another -- quickly. Most animators get in the "zone" and don't want to fiddle with going back and forth. Even with this, it is still really good. But fix that one problem and it will be the best.
