5 Star

I am still playing this game and have decided to buy. The puzzles give you a choice of easy or hard. Since I’m not the sharpest pencil in the box, I pick easy, and they are. Great story line and brilliant colors. Lots to look for in each scene. Butterflies, morphing items and tarot cards, oh my. Great job to a team of creativity. Key West Jessa

Big improvement

I enjoy this series. Story wasn’t that original but, it was entertaining. HOG were fun, the mini games were fun too. Map was great, you could travel with the map and it would even allow you to see collectibles. I did miss a collectible not realizing I would move to the next section and not be able to go back. Great game even at full price.

Just ok

Why people rate it 4 stars when they haven’t played is not right! It boosts ratings and convinces others to play and waste money! This game is just OK..I didn’t purchase..it just didn’t seem worth my time.

Needs a Faster Refresh Rate

This game would have been rated 5 stars, except the refresh rate is still 15 seconds. Other games I have played, Refresh rates are 5 seconds. I enjoyed playing this game - diverse HOPs, two-level puzzles, finding objects (butterflies, Taro cards, morphing objects), beautiful graphics. I will definitely purchase additional games from this company!

Awesome game!

I am enjoying this game. Only complaint- hint button never gives a hint. Basically says "power on".

Although the storyline was one we have seen many times (a ghost searching for human vessels to restore eternal life), this game was still enjoyable to play. Domini Games has given us another installment in this series, and I agree that although it is somewhat formulaic, nevertheless it’s still entertaining and somewhat addictive to play. I didn’t want to stop playing once I started! You could customize settings, as well as the map to indicate collectibles, and also your mode of play during puzzles. Although this fell under the horror genre, the graphics are bright and colorful and the cut-scenes magnetic and exciting. The gimmick in this game was magical paranormal glasses which allow you to view events of the past and collect inventory items to further gameplay. You were given a journal of sorts which held notes and objectives. Tasks were updated regularly. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. The excellent teleport map provided nearly instantaneous transportation between locations. At each location you could find collectibles, which ranged from morphing objects (artifacts), to butterflies to tarot cards. All the collectibles have information associated with them and you also received a butterfly room to decorate. There was a plethora of tasks at each location. The HO scenes had variety, as well as a match-3 alternative. There were numerous puzzles/games. As usual most were of the rotational genre, which I don’t particularly enjoy. However there were others (such as creating potions, brewing teas, and painting) which I do like. So basically there was something for everyone. Gameplay was smooth and glitch-free. Domini has excellent quality assurance. The game was lengthy inclusive of the bonus adventure. I deducted a star for the trite storyline and the lack of creativity in the puzzles/games. However, overall this was an entertaining gaming experience! My review will stand at 4 stars. Happy gaming, everyone!

Here's My "Sixth Sense": "I See Dead People!"

Artifex Mundi has released "Noir Chronicles: City of Crime." Note the new price change — on sale for a limited time at 15 percent off instead of the former 40 percent off. In recent times, Domini has become one of three of my favorite developers, attributing this reason to the highly absorbing gameplay, immersive background animations and special effects, and their ability to present an overused storyline in a captivating fashion. I love the idea, overused or not, of exploring the haunted premises of a serial killer. The settings are wonderfully atmospheric, resonating a fear-inducing consciousness of the ghastly apparitions that startle you, as they appear out of nowhere, offering modicums of clues of their tortured past to remind you of your perilous investigation. Furthermore, the ambiance is artistically interpreted through the effective background animations, resulting in a jolting, yet playful, interaction with the environment. For example, you will touch pictures that start to drip blood. On the downside, though, I am going to grumble about a particular recurring trait — the tiresome visuals in this series and in other series of this developer. Firstly, I feel like throwing a bucket of paint — excluding blue and purple — over the illustrations; the colorations in every game in this series mirror each other, causing me to feel as though I am repeatedly playing the same game. Secondly, the settings are recycled: black and white patterned floors, cobblestone streets, mournful statues of angels, hidden caves, and the ubiquitous overgrowth of chocking vines. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map facilitates brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. In addition, you can choose to activate the map's collectibles' indicator. Transition between scenes is smooth and quick; no glitches to report. I always look forward to the intriguing gameplay in this series. This developer knows how to maintain a player's attention, attributing this observation towards the incorporation of stimulating and inventive elements scattered throughout, such as the entertaining micro-puzzles. This high-caliber style of gameplay transforms the feat of performing tasks from one of monotony into one of magnetism. The varied HOS are remarkably engaging, with the inclusion of creative puzzle-like components to elevate the gameplay. There's a plethora of puzzles in this game; and some offer a welcoming challenge, as I can enable the difficulty setting to the "Hard" choice. To my pleasant surprise, right from the start, I really had to work some out a bit on the harder option. For you collectible lovers, you will be pleased that there are several sets to collect throughout the locations, including within the close-ups. Overall, this is the standard fare that well represents this developer. There is a multitude of tasks to complete in each location, so one will be very busy. I am thoroughly enjoying myself!

DON'T B'OTHER TO KNOCK...

A review to appease my target audience: (Ahem..hi Grandma...) ??‍♀️The second I saw the resurrection of those cringeworthy GLASSES, (with that accompanying statement "Oh! How I missed my glasses!" ??) plus the Barney-Purple Dodge Caravan, the language/syntax errors, the sparse landscape/house and all the worn trademarks of games gone by...... I did my best to remain optimistic, but... ....I soon realized this game is just NOT for me. At all. But let's start with some good news: ☀️HIGHLIGHTS: •Love a Paranormal Storyline. •First HO game.Great! Gotta love a 2-1, complete with all morphing objects and ending in a Mini-Game, complete with the HARD/EASY options (thank you!) that's auto-defaulted to HARD. •Second HOP. Again, Great. Fav part was the really intriguing computer Ghost hunt at the end, but WAY too short....I'd have been thrilled if it was much more thorough; extended into a Mini-Game all its own. And...oh. I could've sworn there was more...oh well. ?LOWLIGHTS: •?Graphics, Automation and even Story feels dated.(&not in a good way??) As much as I love Paranormal genres - the cheese factor definitely overshadowed the cool. •?? ? ?ANGRY ANIMALS !?!? Can pacifying angry animals really be THAT popular? Enjoyable enough to be repeatedly included in (some) games?? And the -toy mouse- earning the title of "Owl Whisperer"? ?!?? This game becomes more oxymoronic by the minute. Why not pacify ME by including several options of "items" to really shoo, or better yet silence the cranky animals? Oh c'mon!...I can't be the only one that has previously tried to use rocks, poison, etc.....and some other helpful suggestions: ?? ?? ??? ??? ?+?=? ???????? ??⛓⚓️⤵️ ? ? | ? | | ⬇️ ? MOBILE PHONE BATTERY REPLACEMENT ?-?=?? ...snooze-fest. Why left outside sans battery?? Is it stolen?? Ooooo...? Now THAT would be exciting.. MODERN GPS in VAN. As I placed directions, (still blissfully unaware I'm in a purple utility van, shudder) excited, as I fully expected some cool interactive mini-game....or at least a some type of HO or a puzzle .... Oh! ?A police chase for the stolen phone?!?! No. ?Instead it's just dreary automated directions. Another big Yawn. BEEN There/DONE That....Next! ?Things that were fun....once. •Bundled sticks that require tape (string, ribbon etc) to create a mini broom - as these anemic little twigs are to whisk away mounds of packed snow "Um...⛄️"No, man" •Broken purse/jacket/backpack zippers requiring converted paperclips/hairpins or fishhooks •Bookshelf Arrangements with the two requisite books to rearrange (This CAN be a fun challenge when there's plenty of books and an intricate pattern) ????MOBILE APP PERIMETER ISSUES. (And I've got slender fingers!) 1)Slider Mini-Game: The close perimeters causing parameters..(ha) that closed me out numerous times 2many)Find the differences: Any selection on the bottom half instantly closed me out - so many times I almost skipped it Okay- enough negativity. That Owl really got me going. OVERALL: Mostly Cloudy ☂️ ??? Miss LC in S.F.
