The course of play in Game Mode is accompanied by a child-friendly storyline that tells the tale of the little candy inventor. Matching video sequences, as well as short building instructions for the magnifying glass and many other extras of the robot, are given as a reward. If you have finished all the levels in the App, a remote control is unlocked, with which you can move your robot freely through the room.
The Code Editor lets you bring your robot to life when you have unlocked all the code blocks in Game Mode. Create your own routes and let your creativity run free. With this mode, children can learn to think solution-oriented by guiding the robot to a self-imposed goal or solving the tasks of parents, teachers, or educators.
Our very first attempt using the app and robot, and the experience is disappointing. It takes a long minute for the app and robot to connect via Bluetooth, and once they are connected all the app will do is tell me to follow the on screen instructions, which are to plug the robot in for charging. It’s already been plugged in and should be fully charged according to the solid amber light on the robot. Haven’t been able to do anything else with the app and robot. But, watching the animation instructing me to plug it in is great fun.
I was a bit worried before buying this robot when looking over all of these reviews. With that being said, my five year old and I have had great success with both the app and the toy. We got through the 90 levels and would love to continue with an expansion pack if we could. Hint hint... My five year old has had a lot of fun playing and learning how to code using the drag and drop approach to coding. Also, the building instructions being released throughout the levels, is an awesome idea, as the robot evolves from level one to level 90. My child was excited to reach these goals every time. Great job!
This is the same problem someone else is experiencing, it would seem. The robot is fully charged, but the app glitches out and tells me to plug the robot in again. Quite disappointing.
I don’t usually write any reviews by my son was so excited to play the robot , just to find out the app would not connect and would not play the robot. Such a waste of time and disappointment. Tinkerbot should be ashamed of selling such awful toys. I will share my experience with everyone. Please do not buy any toy from this company.
Bought for my student. They Spent so much time building it, but when it came time to connecting at the app kept glitching out. Never got to actually see it work.
Everything works great and is pretty cool. My problem is I spent the money on the robot we put it together and to only find out you have to complete level 90 on the game before you can even unlock the remote. Level 90 really I’m pretty ticked about that
My son had fun building the robot and coding it for a year, then the robots stop connecting via Bluetooth. Have emailed the company twice, run several debugging things with no luck. Posting a review hopefully that public facing comments get a better response.
