Why when I sell my fish they do not go away! I have all tanks filled and can’t get new fish because when I sell them it gives me the money but the fish stay! So dumb

It's great in it's simplicity. Nice graphics and not cluttered with all sorts of "buttons", for lack of a better word. However, it needs to be updated. I have tried to sell duplicate fish time & time again, but they won't go away! So now my tanks are all overfilled in my opinion.
