The app has been completely redesigned for iOS 7.
I’ve used this app for years and loved it. You can add pictures, change font, color, pages and so much more but all of the sudden when you save it as a PDF it doesn’t save your complete journal. If you entry is more than one page you will only get one page in the PDF and lose the rest of the entry. Not very useful. If this issue is fixed I would give it 5 stars.
I used to love this app. Now I cannot download pictures from my iphotos to my diary entries. I indicate that I want the photo at the top of my entry and most photos do not load when I tap them. A few do load. I have contacted the help services twice and they just say it should work without giving me any troubleshooting info.
I used to be able to see all the entries that I had tagged, but now I can’t. Is there a way to still do that? Also, I used to be able to type in a word in the search option if the app and find all the entries that may contain that word. Did that get taken away, too? These features were really helpful as now I have to go through many entries trying to find what I’m looking for. This is made even more tedious by the fact that there is no longer the feature that allowed you to “flip” through pages. I would greatly appreciate an update that added these gray tires back in. I’ve been using this app for over five years and I enjoy using it to this day. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
The best Journal I've found for capturing my thoughts. Could be improved if it were able to sync to the IPhone. It is of little use for the iPhone since it doesn’t sync with your material from the iPad to the iPhone. I would have like to have what I’ve written in the past on the iPhone, but unfortunately it doesn’t sync.
I am forced to change my 5 star rating to a 2 star rating. I use this app every morning, but now am at risk in losing all the work I have done over the past two years. Two issues are pending updates for the new Apple OS: 1. Backup (speed and compatibility) 2. Export of the complete journal to PDF file. Without these this app has lost its long term effectiveness. I have contacted support numerous times and still have not received a reply on when the fix will be made. I WILL GLADLY CHANGE THIS TO A 5 STAR RATING AGAIN ONCE THIS IS FIXED. Disappointed and waiting! I use this app every morning as I read the Bible and journal my thoughts. It is a wonderful addition to my IPad and daily routine! I have used it now for years.
Good job on making this app but I have a problem. Is there a way to undo your password and change it without deleting anything.
Guys... what happened to the search feature?! Also, why doesn’t it lock when you switch apps?! And why doesn’t it prompt you to put in password without having to touch the notebook! These are all strange updates that make my 5 Star go to a 1 Star. Please amend.
I purchased this app several years ago and was very happy with it for quite a while despite minor inconveniences which I will not go into here. My main problem is that one day, I began noticing that my entries were disappearing, all except the first sentences. So I basically quit using it. Last week I decided to go into the app once again and I could not even load it. It took my password and acted as if it was going to open, then the screen would go black and return to my iPad’s home screen. If there is a way to back this journal up and you choose to purchase, then make sure you do so.
I would give this app 5 stars because I love it. BUT when I upgraded my IPad the journals would not download on my new device because this app does not use the cloud. I find this deeply disappointing because I could not continue my writings on my new device and will loose everything I had written on the old one. When I contacted help they said to use Drop Box, but I have no idea what that means. I am going to find a new app that uses the cloud. Very Disappointed
I’ve used this wonderful app for seven years, and one of my favorite features has been the ability to search entries by my own “tags,” allowing me to access similarly themed notes through the years. And while we can still “tag” entries, the ability to search entries by the tags has not been updated—rendering tag searches impossible. Here’s one big fan hoping this important feature will be restored.
