Great game with room for improvement

Mutants is a pretty simple game; you're a guy with guns, grenades, and mines in a warehouse filled with various types of mutants. You run around and jump around, shoot mutants, they explode into coins which you collect, you eventually die and spend the coins to upgrade to stronger weapons. You keep playing the game until you die, there's no way to win. The game advances via "waves" and "missions". "Waves" are basically individual levels within the warehouse. Each wave has a goal; kill X amount of mutants, survive for X amount of time, collect things, etc. etc. "Missions" are goals that you accomplish in waves. It can be something as mundane as "jump X amount of times within a wave" to something rather challenging such as "survive X amount of waves without taking damage" or "kill X amount of mutants with landline". As you go through more waves and accomplish more missions you the variety of mutants increase. At first mutants are simple pink blobs that can be taken down very easily with a pistol but soon there will be stronger and faster mutants that require heavier firepower that can be purchased through the coins the mutants leave behind. There are several guns to be purchased as well as med-packs to restore your health, grenades, mines, and drones. You'll spend a long time slaughtering mutants to get enough coins to purchase everything. Control wise, this game is pretty good but can be frustrating at times; it's easy to accidentally press the "jump" button and get yourself killed. In app purchases are entirely unnecessary. The "double the fun" purchase doubles the value of coins you get from killing mutants while everything else is just buying tons of coins. If you like classic 80's style arcade games where you run around and shoot things than you'll dig this game. It's very satisfying to unload your uzi or machine gun on a mob of mutants and collect the bounty. This game is kinda like what would happen if Contra and Geometry Wars had a baby. Not bad for a 99 cent app. So, what's the "room for improvement" that I mentioned? While the floor plan of each wave is different, they use the same backgrounds. While the music is totally appropriate and awesome (hard rock/metal reminiscent of The Scorpions or a sped-up Black Sabbath) there is only one track for the entire game (so far that I've heard). I'd love to see some new backgrounds and hear some new music in this game. Overall, this is a great game to kill a few minutes but it's also kind of addicting and you'll frequently find yourself wanting to play one more wave. If the Ouya ever comes out I really hope they bring this game to it.

Buttons aren't working to well on the iPhone 5, but work fine on ipad. Otherwise this is a five star game.
Fun addicting game but...

It needs a mode where we can just have endless waves of mutants try to kill us. Im not a huge fan of having to play a different mode every wave. Some of the objective modes can get boring and repetitive after playing them three of four times.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. Sometimes the buttons don't work. An easy solution would be iCade support.

Really addictive and downright fun :D glad I got it when it was free, though. It's only one level, so it'd be nice if they made more of a full game out of it, like Contra.
Okay game BUGGY CONTROLS

If you play this game even a tiny bit you will have you character spontaneously lock himself into running left. There is no way to stop this obvious bug. The graphics are okay, the gameplay simple, but the controls are buggy and needed fixing long before this game was released. I am deleting this game for lack of playability.

I like this game, it does deliver what we want. We want to kill mutants, and that's what we get. But.. The problem is it takes too long to get to certain boss battles, and the character get stuck moving left perpetually and I cannot get him to stop. Could use a few updates, but not a bad game.
