Works Great

Semco

I’m not sure why everyone has low rating of this. I find it works great, been using on my iPhone for years. Life saver when you’re at the store and find all they have is older yeast.

Unbelievable

devilpanda

I was just thinking today that I wish Jamil would make an app for his pitching rate calculator and here it is. Excellent tool.

Great App!

cdburg

Having this calculator in my phone helps a ton. I can plug in the yeast expiration dates while at the homebrew store and see exactly how many vials or how large a starter I will need.

Great work

M.Shadows

Awesome app. Super handy! Good job, Jamil.

Great app

Joe in Schaumburg

Very handy to at the shop to figure out how many packs of yeast to buy based on the packaged date, which you dont know til you get there. Thanks Jamil.

Great app

beltbuckle2344

Just like the web app but fits in your pocket. Thanks Jamil.

iPad Version?

macgruffusbrewery

The app is great and easy to use. Just wish there was a version for the iPad so the screen could be better used.

Very helpful

colinsk

This works perfectly for homebrewing sized batched. I would love to be able to repitch in gallons. I would give it 6 stars if it could help with O2 levels!

More

John Colosimo

For $5 I expected more customization, like maybe beer style adjustments, yeast strain adjustments based on wlp or wy strains. Saw a few people thanked jamil, not sure if it's really his app, but this seem more like a money grab for $5 when the calc is free online, and there was room to innovate here. Disappointed in the lack of thought that went into this considering the price

Essential for serious brewers

Tongatim

I was not going to buy this app because Jamil has so generously provided a free version of it online for years, and I don't really need the portability (though cdburg makes a good point about using the app to enter yeast expiration dates while at the brew store to calculate packs needed) . Then I saw the whining of a few sourpusses who resent having to pay a few bucks, and who petulantly demand features that are superfluous to the needs of serious brewers who know how to manage yeast. So I'm buying this just to support Jamil, who, yes, did personally develop this very useful tool, as he has explained in detail on his site. He has given so much to the homebrew community for free. His podcasts on how to brew each style amount to a university level course (for free), and are a whole lot more fun. His "Brewing to Style" is the text to accompany the podcasts. And if you resent his charging for his and John Palmer's book, ..........well, I don't know what to say, other than to encourage others to buy the app, like I did, because it's very useful, and worth the price.
