Mr Word Pro

Mr Word challenges you to a word game with added personality. Even more so, now that Mr Word talks back.
Category Price Seller Device
Games $0.99 Giles Chanot iPhone, iPad, iPod

This update sees the following enhancements:

- Mr Word chats with you during 1 player game play, just like a real human opponent
- Improved dictionary (uses the Oxford English Dictionary if installed)
- High score table, plus keeps track of how many games each player has won
- more consistent AI gameplay

Choose 1 player or 2 player modes, and enter your name to begin.

In 1 player mode, you are playing against Mr Word himself. Featuring Genuine People Personality, Mr Word will really give you a run for your money. Sometimes he will offer encouraging comments, other times he can be a little sarcastic - try not to let him put you off.

Choose a difficulty level, Easy, Medium or Hard, then Mr Word will choose words that a real human would choose (his vocabulary increases in Hard level), and respond to your move in seconds - great for rapid fire play. Now even faster than before.

If you make Mr Word think for longer than a few seconds, you are doing really well!

Mr Word will even "spellcheck" your words as you lay them, so you know in advance whether the word you are playing is acceptable. New option: turn off spellcheck for more challenging word play.

In 2 player mode, your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch becomes a high quality table top board game. Both users can examine and manipulate their letters simultaneously, and the board rotates to face you when it's your turn.

Mr Word Pro is minimalist, highly playable, and totally ad free so you can rediscover the joy of word games.

Also featuring the Define button - instantly brings up word definitions for all words played. High quality, Apple-supplied dictionary of over 100,000 words. Features definitions from the Oxford English Dictionary so you can learn new words and their meanings every time you play.

I love this game and play every day, I like the voices, makes it a little more personal

Almost great

I turned off the obnoxious voice - who wants to be heckled and abused while trying to relax? And why is it a female voice when I am playing MR. Word? The app lost one star for not tallying the words for me before I play them, and one star for not recognizing words that are clearly words - like "fewer". This app is recognizing fewer and fewer legitimate words. There, I just used it in a sentence.

I am rating this a 3 because it seems that Mr. word can use words that when others use them are not allowed. Also his calculations for his score is different than others; example would be making a simple word by adding one letter, I wouldn't always get both words and also don't receive if it is a double or triple letter but Mr Word always gets whatever is under each letter. I like the game, but BOTH sides need to be more equal. Thank u!

How do you play this game? I can't find out how to play the game. The link for support goes to an unrelated web page. It is not scrabble so ho to play is a mystery to me. Would it be asking too much for a built in help file. This is total waste of my money

Love it!

Great app!

I love this game. I play it like all day long. The reason why I gave it four stars is because I would like to be able to see my score before I press done instead off being forced to keep adding scores. Also, I feel it would be a better game if it accepted the same words that Scrabble accepts To me it seems that it rejects even words that I'm confident are real words. One of my coworkers even stopped playing because she said it rejected words that she is sure are words , so she became frustrated.
