Just got a Vixia HFR40. The camera app to turn an iphone into a remote works fine, but this app doesn't even recognize that the camcorder is connected. Maybe the app needs an update for ios7.

The app won't work right most of the time, very much devaluing my camcorder!

It it work at all. My device doesn't seem to find the camera at all. Sad. Was looking forward to uploading video. Instructions would be nice.

Hasn't the developers read all the reviews and sent out an update? The camera and app do not connect. Should we all ask for a refund?

After making multiple attempts to connect this to a Canon XA25, I have included that the application is totally useless. It shouldn't be on the market.

As other people said, first try i give the camcorder never connects, after playing with the app i found that to get it connected we need to put the camcorder in playback mode>home icon>wifi>movie uploader. Vuala now the app works flawless. Yes wee need a better instructions on how to get connected but is very easy and did work perfect,, Remember Movie uploader app = Playback mode in Cam CameraAcces = Record mode in Cam Using Vixia HF R40 Makes sense huh !

Wasn't able to connect at first. Read Canon instructions and need to connect via media server. May not make sense but it works great!

I am able to connect the camcorder, a Canon Vixia HF R40, by enabling it's built-in wifi and connecting it to my 4th gen ipad; however, when I select and try to download an mp4 to my iPad I receive an error message that says my download failed.
