Fun!

KeybdWizrd

Fun, musical, intuitive little synth. I like it!

Great app, just remember to adjust the settings

48kRAM

I really dig this app but I got pretty frustrated at first with the latency (measured at 130msec) between touch and note start. Their FAQ reminds you to adjust the audio buffer size in 'Settings' and now it's manageable :)

Amazing

This app is one of the most amazing things I've seen. I bought it on a whim, after I'd watched many, many, many videos of people using it, including Jordan's videos while he was designing it. The depth of customization is unreal, and I'm WAY out of my depth with this one. But that's my fault, not the app's. I love what this app is capable of, and I need to do dedicate a lot more time to figuring it out. I'm looking forward to it. For a first app, Mr Rudess, this is unbelievable!

Amazing!

It could use some more sound options, but otherwise, this app is an incredible iPad instrument, especially since I can't afford a Continuum Fingerboard any time soon. Some ideas: More sounds, like a synth choir, strings, and a classic sawtooth lead Optional precision sound controls for more diverse effects control. Optional one-over-the-other octave setup, like an organ.

Audiocopy and AudioPaste

I really like this app. I've found its strength to be playing melodic solo lines, or single note bass lines, and it excels at this. The problem is that it is difficult to use this app with other apps. As of this writing it does not support AudioBus and I have not been able to get AudioCopy and AudioPaste to work properly. Each preset seems to have its own tempo and scale embedded. These are easy enough to change, but they tend to default back to the original settings and not the settings I have chosen. For example, I'll write a drum and bass loop in FL Studio Mobile, and use the AudioCopy feature. I'll open MorphWiz, find the sound I want to use and adjust the setting (scale, tempo, and length of the loop) and do an AudioPaste from within MorphWiz. Almost every time, the tempo and number of measures defaults back to the preset in MorpWiz rendering my pasted loop either chopped or with extra beats of silence at the end. It's also very difficult to set a tempo on MorphWiz. The slider seems simple enough, but when I lift my finger from it, it usually jump a beat or two in one direction. It would be nice to have a slider with tap up and tap down buttons so that the user could slide to the approximate tempo and then tap in the last few beats to make it precise. All of these things are problematic only if you are trying to use the app with other apps on your device (as most are trying to do now). As a stand alone cool synth, I love it. A five star review is forthcoming if integration with other apps (AudioBus) and AudioCopy and AudioPaste are supported/improved.

Amazing app, but..

I bought this app a while ago, on Christmas Day. Probably my favorite app. It's very easy to use, has a lot of neat presets, and is extremely customizable, down to the reverb and delay, as well as vibrato and chorus. However, after about 3 weeks of use, the app stopped working. I can still open it, create presets, and basically do anything I could, but I can't hear it.... I can hear the other apps (sample wiz, tachyon, etc.) perfectly fine, but the audio on this one quit. The app is a 5 star app, but this problem really dragged down my review.

Cool concept

Digital Velcro

This app is great for people branching out into ios music making. I have found that the latency still lags after I lowered it in the settings menu. Also, Audiobus is the wave of the future. I love all of the Jordan Rudess apps, but until they get set free with support for Audiobus, I'll just stick with SampleWiz and rate MorphWiz with 3 out of 5 stars.

Very good musical app. Jordan is a legend.

The idea of Pads and musical surfaces has been with us for a while, since the 70s really. This is one of the most creative endeavors on the iPad period. Don't expect to play familiar songs of standards but you will break ground. I hope to see updates and instruments and I will be happy to pay handsomely for them. This guy is very very good with code. This is a tight professional application and one you can trust a live show with.

No longer compatible with my main apps

Scrote61

I was using this app quite a bit with other music apps and everything worked well... Not any more. I use to be able to get a drone going in Mixtikl and then boot up Morphwiz for some melodies, but now MorphWiz just silences Mixtikl... can't use them both together on the same device. While my other music apps seem to be well supported with frequent updates, MorphWiz seems to have been abandoned... last update being Aug 2010. I hope this isn't the case because I would like to use it again someday. Maybe with better integration with other apps, Audiobus support and maybe some new sounds.

Very expressive

Vidasincarne

Instead of being a virtual representation of an existing instrument, it's a whole new instrument in its own right. It feels a little cramped on the iPad Mini if you set the range at 2 or more octaves. I would also suggest that you turn multitasking gestures off while using this app.
