I discovered this app through a music site, and I was more than impressed by the demonstration video. This app rivals a hardware version by a major music company, I would say the amount of sonic detail is very impressive. Don't let the simplicity of this app fool you; you can be quite musical with it. You can create some very unique sounds, and you will thank yourself for the time you spend figuring out how to really open up the possibilities. Audiobus is included, so you are not only able to record these great sounds, but also add a tremendous variety of effects to them. I cannot recommend this app highly enough to anyone who appreciates sound design and unique music creation.

I own the Monotron Duo. I used to own the original Monotron. This sounds like those did. It's not as noisy, though. Also, the filter isn't as deep. The hardware Monotrons can put out some really nice, deep bass sounds. This one doesn't quite have the lower end that the hardware does. Of course, it's only $.99. I love the Audiobus support. I can make samples in Nanostudio and Filtatron!

Don't get me wrong: I love my 2 Korg analog MonoTrons (and MIDI-fied Mono tribe). And for about the price of a tank of gas, you can have one and put it in your pocket. But this is very cool. To have a really nice simulation for $.99 on your iPhone or other iOS device, is awesome. UI and programming is very clever. Sure, it doesn't quite have that fat filter that the hardware analog versions do. But it's now Audiobus ready. So you can put it through other filters. And it's very light (in terms of processing and memory), so you can do some major things with it without crashing Audiobus or any of the other apps. Well worth a buck… Or even two. But it's only $.99. If you're a serious Audiobus user, trust me; you want this. It's a No-brainer , Slam-dunk, auto-buy.
