I read that the PDR text was discontinued around 2017, and after years of having it for reference, I was bummed. The later versions seem to had negative reviews, but I hadn’t actually bought the text in a few years. I think a lot of negative reviews of PDR information is that people want watered down material. I personally love that you always got pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Plus the information presented was detailed as a professional pamphlet that is included in literature. As far as I’m concerned, working in the field, this app provides the detail to truly know the drug if you’re unfamiliar. Compared to other free apps that simply give ridiculous info such as “antiemetic” and “used to treat nausea” with a basic dosing guideline of 4 or 8 mg every 6 hours as needed et cetera. This is providing you with detailed information about 5-HT3 antagonism, other chemotrigger explanations and various receptor interactions. I like detail and having free access at work on my phone is a plus.

Has some fundamental technical issues with access. Is very frustrating if info is needed for a med and access unavailable!

Agree 100% with previous commenter, Orlaam. I too am old school and must have detail, do not consider any drug information “too much” or “not useful.” We all should have a deeper knowledge and understanding of these medications and how our patients’ systems may respond to them. I too miss the old texts, “the Bible’s”- having all the data before you, but maybe the APP, with the ability to enlarge the text, is better for my old eyes at this point! Thanks!

Only complaint is there is no way to visualize the scheduling of narcotics. This is important for students! PLEASE consider adding this, because I would rather keep this app only, as opposed to referencing an additional app for this missing information! Oh! Also, create a tab for related drugs upon lookup.

This app used to work great. I use it to check drug interactions. Was very helpful to double check drugs that I’m taking. It doesn’t work anymore on iPhones.

This app has excellent levels of detail about individual drugs, but whenever I try to use the check for interactions function, it just produces an “unknown error” message.

I highly recommend this app! Beats carrying a book around. I luv that the updates are given as soon as you open app up. That’s another plus!! Just shared it with my niece... future RN... to show her the convenience and ease again vs book.
