Really useful for learning and practice

I am a novice, and the way this app is designed is so helpful for me! It offers a lot of flexibility in what and how you can practice, offering details for study and just-in-time reference during practice.

English Change Ringing
Ringer532

As a music app, this supplies pleasant bell sounds of English church and town towers, or the music of a tuned set of handbells rung in changes. What are changes? The bells are rung one after another in an ever-changing sequence, to a constant steady rhythm. The result is a kaleidoscope of ringing without ever an actual chord, but with harmonic interaction due to the persistence of each bell's sound. Most folks find it cheerfully musical, and of course English village expatriates tend to be very nostalgic for it. You can choose from a huge library of methods, and can regulate the number and speed (but not the pitch) of the bells. For those new to listening to this kind of music, I would recommend starting with the methods named Grandsire or Stedman, on eight bells (of which seven are changing places). BTW, proceeds from sale of Mobel are currently being entirely donated to bell restoration funds. If you are a change ringer, this app was designed for you, and I believe you will find it well worth the price. It does not, of course, replace the experience of pulling a bell rope or ringing two handbells in the company of other capable ringers, but it can be a powerful assistant in training the mind for ringing methods from plain hunt on four bells to the most complex methods on larger numbers of bells. By training yourself in this way, you can practice many aspects of ringing without wasting valuable group practice time, and make significant progress between practice meetings. The developer has been quick to add features and improve the user experience. I highly recommend Mobel to anyone who aspires to be or become a better change ringer. -CJH

The change ringers best friend

I can't say how much I love this app on a bus it's a great way to get a seat. Just start ringing and they move away. Just kidding though I do it on a bus on the way to practice with headphones on. I also do it at work if I'm bored. Or I do it sitting on the couch at home. The trace your bell thing is very helpful when looking at the whole method for study. The only bad thing is for touches you can't chose length or observation bells. That's really the only bad thing I can say about it.

Enormously useful or interesting

Depending on your point of view, this app is either essentially useful if you are a practicing change ringer, or fascinating if you are a fan or a student of campanology. I'm in the latter camp, having read "Nine Tailors" and wanted to know more ever since. Now I know how it works and more importantly how it sounds. A really brilliant and very well done app.

Beginners Advanced and Everyone in Between

I started using Mobel when I was just learning hunting and it's been SO helpful in getting the methods internalized, and practicing more advanced methods. It has its quirks but it's unbelievably useful for practicing when you're not in your tower.
