If you want to do well at this game, you must spend money. The minimum to compete during the week is $14.99 and the weekend is $19.99. That is the minimum if you want to compete a little. If you actually want to win events, be prepared to dump $100 to $200 during the week and $200 to $500 on the weekend. Sure, you can play for free, but you won’t be competitive and won’t get on the good teams that actually play. All the guys I know who play this game have spent nearly $10,000 just this year. Customer Service is horrible, the game glitches and crashes during events, the event rewards are worth about 1/10th the amount you spend. If you have lots of expendable income, by all means play, it’s fun when you can spend money. The customer service problems and the failure on Glu to fix major flaws in the game make it a huge waste of money.

Love the game, that’s for sure. Just get very bored with it, because of the small amount of good players that come out of the box! Would put 4 stars, but you guys have been very helpful through the years so 5 it is! Thanks guys
Played for years, this year's the worst

This game is beginning increasingly more pay to play in the worst way. You get "gift boxes" that rarely give you a useful player. You then have to buy 5-15 more boxes just to get one. Then, you only get bonus points for that player for a day or two if you're lucky. After that the player is rather useless. If you win your playoffs and Level up your team, you get matched with the highest of the high in that tier, so you end up only winning 5-10% of the games you play. It's bad because players become super expensive to upgrade, and the easiest way to get gold is to win play-offs. I also swear there's an algorithm that sees when you Upgrade a pitcher because when you do, you can't use them for a few games. So if you finally get what you need to upgrade a pitcher to use as your Ace, but one bonus game left, you're screwed if they are a bonus player giving you a lot of points for use. It's so maddening. Played this game since 2016-2017 and it's become so frustrating just to win two bonus games in a row all the while seeing the top teams literally make TRILLIONS of points. May not play 2021.

When the competition is “tougher”, the game does nothing to condition you or itself. A 97mph fastball down the middle, swung at by the same player will result in different hits depending on the “difficulty” or pitcher “stuff”. Aka when the game gets “harder” it just means home runs become shallow fly balls, 2Bs are slow grounders, and every pitch thrown to you is a ball until the game ends.

I am disgusted with how blatantly manipulated this game is, in every facet. Just like every other game out there, this one prioritizes in-game purchases and clearly rigs the system to entice you to open your wallet. Hope the new owners bring some honesty. What a horrible, crooked and unapologetically predictable algorithm.
