Tom Gifford

I can’t get it to work

Can’t see the directions

Limetwisty

The animated gif they use for directions is too small to see on my iPhone SE. I can’t make it work.

Never connected to my tv. After everyone in the whole house trying to figure it out, we gave up.

The app doesn’t work at all, all it does is record my phone and doesn’t cast to my tv at all.

Long review but much needed. Something weird is going on with this app. •First of all, the reviews are skewed. It says this app has 7,175 but is rated 3.9 stars... There are only 7 five star reviews (that of which say absolute gibberish), 2 four star reviews, 3 three star reviews, & 4 two star views. THE REST ARE ALL ONE STAR. The overall rating score is fixed. •Read the one star reviews! •Lastly, I sadly didn’t read any of the reviews before already trying out the app out. After searching “Roku” in the AppStore, I saw this app from the search page & it was rated “3.9” stars. So I downloaded it. Once downloading I instantly opened up the app to try & connect to my TV. Upon opening the app an add ran, then another, then another. Very frustrating but I figured I’d see if the app was functional. It then asked permission to my photos & videos but I declined. I tried to run the screen mirroring function. Once you click that option a photo pops up with directions how to use it, it didn’t automatically enable the function. So I went down to my iPhone’s screen recording, as directed, held down the button & a list of modes popped up. There was an option to “start broadcast” to Roku TV. So I clicked it but then nothing began playing to my TV. I fidgeted around a little on my phone, tried to see if I played a video if it would activate it. Nothing. I decided to go back to the app & stop “broadcasting” but it wouldn’t let me. Every time I went to click “end broadcasting” nothing would happen & my screen continued to say “Everything on your screen will be recorded, including notifications.” I thought this was very weird & I got a little spooked. I went to delete the app off my phone but again it would let me. I help down the app (people with iPhones know when you go to delete an app, you hold it down, the app wiggles, & has an “x” at the top left corner of the app icon) but the “x” wasn’t popping up. I tried to tap the app anyways & my phone completely glitches out & started to lag. I tried it again and it also glitched out again but somehow was able to be removed from my home page. I thought all was well BUT I checked my phone swipe up phone settings hours later & my screen “broadcasting” was still enabled & I couldn’t figure out how to disable it. Finally I decided to restart my phone & it seems the issue was resolved. I went to the App Store to read the reviews, no one else it seems has experienced this situation yet but review after review explained multiple problems with the app. App is very fishy. ??‍♀️
