Crafting recipes options are correct

Sometimes you get a crafting recipe that would work in multiple ways, but only one is correct. Example: to craft pumpkin seeds, you put a pumpkin in a crafting table. It doesn't matter where you put it, yet the app says that only the right middle slot is correct. This is a big issue because it is a guessing game when this scenario comes up.
